Hookfang is Snotlout's Monstrous Nightmare, not Stoick's. Stoick's dragon is a Thunderdrum and it's name is Thornado. Stoick gets (or has) Thornado during the series.

"Bad ring! Very bad ring! You scared me to death! Don't ever stay that long away again!" Me after I found my lost ring that my still-alive grandma gave me. I found it in my sock/underwear/bra/some money for college in an envelope drawer.

um iluvhttyd that's only in the Frachice have you ever read any of the how to train your dragon book series (there 9 books the 9th book is kinda a sad ending and a 10th one comes out in sep.) Thumderdrums don't exist in the books (although it was based on the dragon sqeular i think in the 4th book). Snotlout (who i don't like in the book series because he's extremely mean and want Hiccup to die) Monstrous Nightmare is name FIREWORMS. Also in the very first book Stoick has two dragons a Groukle and Moustrous Nightmare named HOOKFANGS. So i guess they changed Snotlout's dragon name to Hookfang because fireworm wasn't a good name.
Sorry for the books spoilers but i'm just saying

OH. MY. GODS. That was possibly the most amazing short EVER. I loved it. All of it. Especially the moment where Toothless destroys his tail and gives Hiccup the big green eyes. And, of course when Toothless spit out the helmet onto Hiccup's head. I found that hilarious.

Oh the Gift of the Night Fury...
Let me see now...
It was a truly great short. We have baby dragons, Snoggletog (spelling?), Toothless and his profound loyalty, and, of course, Astrid kissing Hiccup again.
The other two shorts are, while not bad, more... childish. With the "Bork's World" animation and such. They were designed to be cute little stories. Gift of the Night Fury, however, it was basically a mini-HTTYD. And they pulled it off perfectly.
I'm hoping Cartoon Network decides to broadcast this as the HTTYD "Holiday Special". It would just be a great success.
What do you think (I'm going to post a more comprehensive review in a bit. I'm just a bit busy at the moment).

Agreed. What is the other short besides "Legend of the Boneknapper"? Unless you mean "The Book of Dragons"?
