I know! I set it to record. I'm so making my parents watch it for Christmas.

@sthefano, I second that. Livestream conversations are nice. I know nothing about it though.
Well... happy Snoggletog everyone (given it's obvious similarities to Christmas I'm going to assume we can celebrate it on/around Christmas)

Happy Snoggletog! And there was a huge wooden Christmas tree in the village square in GotNF.

True, although I'm sure for GotNF it was a Snoggletog tree. Given the history of Germanic and Nordic Christmas-like traditions, I'm assuming Snoggletog is the Berk version of the winter holiday. Also, I found out that this is the website for Snoggletog. www.snoggletog.com/publicx/defaultp.aspxI am disappointed.

That would be putting it mildly.

I wonder if they even acknowledge what awesomeness their name implies.

Somehow? I doubt it.

Hm...
I need to do a full scale analysis of GOTNF. I've been thinking of doing my own sort of "fan commentary" in which I go through the movie and comment on it scene by scene expanding upon it's awesomeness. GOTNF and the series would have to follow as well. I'm assuming it would take a while though... probably double the time it takes to watch the movie because I'd have to keep pausing to write. But I'll see...
There are some very deep things in GotNF. It's truly an awesome sequel. Full of the same feel as the movie.
I'm heavily relying on them to make all subsequent HTTYD stuff as equally awesome. "Bad sequel" syndrome must be fought.

Agreed...hmm. It would be interesting. Just a side note, I checked on HTTYD's Facebook. No contact information that I can see.

I would guess not. I want to talk to those at Berk's Grapevine. They seem extremely well informed and a wealth of knowledge.
Ah well, first... to my applications!

I was just rewatching GotNF, and I think I may have developed a theory as to why Snoggletog is when it is. Why it has that particular date.
Assuming that Dragons migrate to hatch their eggs every year at the same time, perhaps Snoggletog evolved as a holiday because it was the only time during the year that the Berkans knew that they wouldn't be under the threat of attack; the one time of year they could count on as dragon-free in order to have the freedom to lay down their weapons and celebrate (and of course the other regular reasons... holidays of light and decoration during the dark and cold winter cheer people up and such).
Of course now it's meaning will probably change to in fact celebrate, in part, dragons.

This is a beautiful movie. I love every minute of it, and I even have a roleplay based on this on my forum. It is great to discover that Meatloaf is a female!

When you say a beautiful movie, do you mean HTTYD itself, or Gift of the Night Fury?
Either way, I agree. both are stunning. Not only in terms of music, and, of course, visuals, but also in story, character and emotions.
Its spectacular, this world of Berk.
Also, Meatlug (not Meatloaf). Just a minor correction.
