Haha, my Dad's like that too. But I'll bet they just didn't feel like doing a redesign for the character's outfits. I'm sure we'll get to see them all in new outfits in the sequel, though.

That is very much possible, but I do forsee at least some kind of jacket (given the more modernish clothing they wear).
I think that living and growing up there they are just more used to the cold then most. I have had people visit from places like Australia and say that it's freezing in the beginning of summer, because they are used to much higher temperatures.

One of the clips has Hiccup lose something... HHHHHHHMN? *nudge nudge* The breast hat! Now that's an interesting idea. Probably the most likely so far (I do doubt that it will be a new leg for Hiccup, that just feels wrong). Although I'm not sure how much dramatic weight the breast hat has. Perhaps it represents the bond between Hiccup and Stoick and therefore Hiccup's losing it represents their inability to be together for the holidays. And then when Toothless finds it, the holiday is suddenly complete! That kind of fits the holiday special theme. But I don't know. I've always been bad at symbolism. And my dad is exactly like that too. Maybe it's something about dads.... |

Thats actually not ENTIRELY true. A vast magority of people here in Australia ARE used to the higher temperatures but it depends on where you are from. Up in Queensland (The pointy bit at the top) They do get hot temperatures all year round (And so much freakin rain!!! GAH!) And in the desert in the middle (Where noone actually lives! LOL) they get pretty hot temperatures too. But down in the south it's hot during the summer but it does still get cold at winter. Like in Canberra (Where I live) it gets into the 40s during summer and into the negatives during winter. And during autumn and spring we get about 15-27 degrees. Oh God, Im rambleing. *facepalm* Sorry! ^^; Anyways, my point is that not ALL of us are totally used to the hot weather. Like me actually. I wear t shirts and stuff during winter and duringsummer i just about die. XDDDD Although I may be like this because our heater broke so our house in no warmer than outside... Thats probably it. AND NOW ONTO SUBJECT!!!!! （╯°□°）╯ I think that this short has the potential to be really EPIC! but it also has the potential to be terrible... Im going with epic though. ^^ But for the BOOK OF DRAGONS? Im a little scetchy... |

I know not everyone is like that, I was basing it on one experience. XD I know someone who went to Russia for vacation once, she's from Florida. She said to her it was FREEZING but there were people walking about with only long sleeve shirts on apparently. It all depends on who the person is, where they live and grew up specifically, that sort of thing. I grew up close to Pennsylvania, but I cannot STAND the cold at all. 8|
From what we have seen, I think it's going to be pretty good at the very least. Or at least enjoyable, and enjoyment is the main factor in my case.
I think Book of Dragons will be rather enjoyable, depending on how you look at it, and great for information. But will it do it's job well? The jury is still out on that.
And personally, with the way Toothless dove after that hat I think he just knows it is very important to Hiccup. To him, that's all that matters. Getting back something his friend lost that meant something to him.

Too lazy to quote that XD.
But, agreed. It all makes sense now. Thats why Toothless wasnt at the dragon island. And that's why he didn't arrive at Berk with all the other dragons in the ending clip.
And no I don't think Book of Dragons will be enjoyable at all. To me, the intro sucked SO much, that I just immendiately took off the vid before it even finished. And as I said before after doing that, the only wor in my mind was "Crap". Its terrible. They really failed at this.
But yeah..If youre guess is right, Gift will be the cutest HTTYD story EVER. Better than any fanfics too.

There were more than swearing in that story..... it was about Hiccup, who grew older with Toothless in hostile world..... both physically and mentally! |

Yeah I prob am a bit too young . But I've already read similar fic, where years pass, they say bad words, etc...and honestly I didnt like them. But Hitchcups ain't valid cuz it's WAY out of the story. If it were a HTTYD movie, it would be like Te 20th sequel XD. |

The Hitchups was a good fic, it took it in a rather believable direction given what we have. At least to me. If the move had a higher rating I think it would have been a bit more like that, since it's a very mature story for a children's movie to start with.
But curse words are not for everyone. Cursing does not make a fic more mature. XD It just makes the content more adult in nature, and not everything adult can be considered "Mature" (cursing, drinking, smoking, all of these are adult, but doing them maturely is hard).
Personally, I do not mind them, I adore the fic, but I can see why others do not. The story and writing is very adult, but also very mature, which I love to see.
T11 (I like this nickname for you!), you are a tad young, but maturity is not tied into age. And even the most mature people may not enjoy things that others can't. It's more the person than anything else.
To me? Anything under 70 degrees is cold. Under 50 is FREEZING.
Under 30 is OH NO I AM GETTING BACK IN THE HOUSE NO WAY.
Under 10? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH No way am I leaving the warmth of these blankets buddy.
And since I grew up where it was normally 20-30 in winter on a good day... yeah.
