Yay our admin Oates XD. Anyway, I alled it crap cuz there's another clip of it's intro. It was so terrible that even though it was a minute long, I took off before I finished watching it. All I could think was "crap". I always had a feeling book of dragons would suck ever since I hear rumors of it. And yest I hope Toothless doesn't randomly goes on instinct here. Cuz in that part of the movie, I really got angry at Toothless wile watching it in theaters. I didn't like that part at all. If that happens again, I probably will hate this short  . Cuz Hiccup builds him the tail and how can he thanks him? By letting his instics kick in and leave Hiccup stupidly like there's no tomorrow. That would be Dreamwork's worst move ever And yes I'm a big fan  . |

Going off what you said, I have noticed that their world is going kind of clockpunk, mostly basing it off of the things Hiccup invents. He seems to favor little gadgets and gears that all fit together like clock parts. And since the franchise is expanding who knows how many more inventions we'll see from Hiccup? It's exciting to think about it, though.
And as for Toothless leaving, the sneak peeks cleared up a lot on what the backstory is behind it, and I'm just interested in how they're going to handle Toothless going off on his own. I have a feeling something will go wrong with his tail, because if everything went right than it wouldn't be a story, but I guess we'll all just have to wait and see.
Either way, this shorts look really exciting and I can't wait to see them. I'm glad Dreamworks is giving this proper attention in all the right places.

Well, remember, while Toothless is the smartest species of dragon he is STILL an animal. Instinct is instinct. XD It's like if someone goes to hit you, you try to dodge or block as best you can. Even humans run on it, and he's far more animal like than humans are.
But that's my own take on it. 83
I think I already know why Toothless leaves, and I am POSITIVE he does. But not for what you may think.
One of the clips has Hiccup lose something... HHHHHHHMN? *nudge nudge*

Lol I was thought Toothless as another type of animal. One that THINKS XD. Let me guess, you think he leaves cuz he has a baby? XD.
Well still I think its stupid if he just randomly leaves. I would be satisfied if at least he like offers to take Hiccup with him (wit Hiccup refusing though). And he doesn't appear in the ending of Gift...
And another guess. The sequel will be about Toothless going missing -_-

83 DING DING BACKROSE. T11: I'm not saying he doesn't think. XD I'm just saying that human intelligence does not override animal instinct. Even humans who live in completely different environments have a very difficult time adjusting and not listening to their own gut when situations change. He WAS wild before the movie for all intents and purposes. And they haven't shown the ending just YET, have faith hon!  Dreamworks knows that showing the full ending won't be good publicity, there's got to be at least a few minutes at the end we don't see. |

Some of the clips, like the Yaknog one, aren't too spoilerish. Actually, that one seems to be at the VERY start, so you should be find if you only stick to that one.
Yep, that's what we meant! I hope I'm right, I can usually peg these things from clips, but it's not certain. If that is what happens, that would be ADORABLE.

Okay, you convinced me to watch just that one. And holy HELL Astrid is giddy. lulz. I could get used to it since it seems cute, but I hope they aren't ditchin' the rough side of her personality. Good to see the affection between Hiccup and her is there. I suppose Hiccup's line "my lady" could mean they're officially BF/GF even though I know that phrase doesn't necessarily imply a relationship.
Well one thing's for sure, Astrid should not change occupation from shieldmaiden to barmaid. XD

Well, we didn't get a full feeling for her in the movie, so I think they are taking the time to develop her a bit more fully. I think she's still rough, but in the shorts we see what we didn't get to see before.
I think they are together actually. I am quite pleased by this!
AND TRUE. WE WANT OUR VIKINGS ALIVE. She'd be better at bashing things in the head with her ax... and that's a heck of a lot more badass. XD
... Though if someone gets on the wrong end of that ax... I do not see it ending well if she's angry. She's dangerous on a different level that way. XD (In a good way too)

I agree, a lot of people on YouTube are making a big deal because they don't think Astrid is in character...but we didn't really get a complete developed feel of her character in the movie to start with, so it's all kind of up in the air at this point.
But, on some completely different topics, I noticed no one mentioned the musical score to Gift. When I watched the first clip it simply seemed like they were just re-using the movie score with edits like they did in Boneknapper, but watching all the clips, it seems like they've added some new music to the old score. Like the music at the beginning of the "Yaknog" clip and the music at the end of the "Where are you taking me?" clip was definately not in the movie score...but I like how they merged the two. They're using John Powell's score as a base for adding new stuff, which is pretty awesome.
Also, I'm pretty satisfied with the level of detail they're paying to the atmosphere. It's just as well thought out as in the movie. Like how you can see Hiccup's breath in the clip with him and Toothless flying, and how sometimes the atmosphere is very cloudy and just gloomy looking in the middle of the day. It really gets the feel of that "It snows for 9 months and hails the other 3" line that Hiccup said at the end of the movie. I just wish everyone would put on warmer clothes! Maybe they're just used to it, but you'd think they'd be freezing XD
