After catching enough fish, Mordar took off for a quick trip to another area to safely deposit the fish. He then returned and noticed the chill in the air. It looked like there could be rain, and fairly heavy rain at that. Wondering if Mouse noticed it too, Mordar stared at her for a bit, and then looked at the dark clouds gathering.
The clouds were varying shades of gray and black, but they all spelled out a rather bad storm.

Noticing the stare, Mouse tilted her head a bit, confused. "Wh-what's the matter?" she asked, quietly. Sure, it felt cold, but that just meant the sun was behind a cloud, that was all. Looking up to confirm this, Mouse let out a small squeak when she saw the dark clouds. Where had THOSE come from?
She looked around, quickly, wondering if she'd have time to get home. She'd have to run for it...and she was still soaking wet, and she didn't know how soon it would be until it actually started to--Mouse flinched as she felt something cold drop on her. Oh, there it was, already. "I-It's raining!" she cried, arms lifting to cover her head. She glanced towards Mordar, legs shaking a bit as more drops fell. Dragon's couldn't get very wet, could they? Something about their heads... "You s-should go hide! U-Under somethin'!"

There was lightning, followed by a sharp crack of thunder, and Mordar ran into the shade of some trees. The rain steadily grew heavier, and even worse, it started to get windy. He couldn't risk flying in such bad conditions, but he was wondering if he had to. The weather was getting so bad, it would be better to find a cave or the like.
Mordar made sure to take his fish with him before he began thinking about it.

Mouse let out a cry as it rained harder, wading quickly through the water to the other side of the stream. She had to get her shoes, at least, couldn't run back without them. And Auntie'd kill me if I left them here, to get ruined, or-- The lightning struck just then, as Mouse reached the rock. This time she actually screamed, falling underwater in her efforts to get to safety faster. Reaching the other side, completely drenched so that the rain soaking her was hardly noticeable, Mouse gathered her boots and stockings, running blindly towards the trees. She couldn't stay out in the open when there was lightning, she'd get fried.
Hiding, not really seeing where she'd gone, Mouse huddled against a tree, one of the ones she'd passed on the way here. Hugging her things to her chest, she curled into a ball and shut her eyes, mumbling a prayer or two under her breath.

Mordar, seeing he had no choice, flew into the air and was instantly pelted by a wall of rain which cut his visibility to almost zero. Despite this, he flew on, determined to find a cave. Meanwhile the stream where he was only an hour before was beginning to flood, and badly!
All this time the thunder grew to almost a deafening pitch and finally, Mordar spotted a cavern where he bid a quick retreat to. As he looked out of the cave's mouth, he wondered if Mouse was getting along any better.

The thunder made Mouse cover her ears, curling tighter in a ball. Her eyes squeezed shut even tighter, a few tears leaking out. She felt cold and numb now, and was terrified besides. Risking opening her eyes, she looked around, letting out another whimper. She couldn't stay here!
Slipping her feet into her wet boots, Mouse edged out from beneath the tree, racing in another direction. She didn't see, or care really, which way she went. She ended up slipped and falling on her face not two seconds later, getting her entire front muddy. But she got up and kept running.

Mordar continued to sit in the cave and watch the pouring rain. As more thunder was heard he could see that lightning was striking almost everywhere.
He tried to see where Mouse was under the wall of water, but couldn't get a sight of her.

Seeing the lightning increasing, Mouse cried out in fear and shrank against the tree even further, trying to make herself as small as she could. A tree wasn't the safest place to be, she suddenly realized, but what could she do now? Another strike came uncomfortably close, and Mouse instinctively ran for it. She slipped several times on the grass, falling over and getting muddier, but she didn't care as long as she ended up somewhere safe.
Another lightning bolt struck, very close to her, and she screamed, falling to her knees and curling into a ball again. "A-AUNTIIEEE!" she cried, shivering violently as she tried to keep moving.

Mordar retreated deeper into the cave while the rain pounded. Although he was soaking wet, he was already beginning to dry off in the cave's enclosure. The cave didn't go very far, but it was still enough to keep him safe.
He started to drift off into sleep, even with the storm pounding outside.

Well, sitting there crying wasn't going to do anything. Mouse whimpered louder, lifting her head up and trying to see through the rain. Her braid was starting to weigh down quite a bit, and her bangs were sticking to her forehead, falling into her eyes. Mouse wiped them away, crawling forward as quick as she could. Maybe sticking lower to the ground would lessen her chances of being zapped to death...
Finally, she ran into something--Mouse couldn't see what it was (though it felt pretty rough...must be another tree, she thought), but it would have to do. Pressing as close against it as she could, Mouse noted that the rain wasn't hitting her anymore. Maybe the lightning wouldn't either. She spent some time sitting there with her knees to her chest, shoulders hunched as she stared wide-eyed outside.

Mordar slept, and slept, and slept. When he found himself waking up, the storm was already over. He looked around and then went outside. The ground was still wet, but the clouds were gone and a clear night sky was visible. The temperature had dropped harshly after the storm, and any humans going around were not exactly safe in this kind of cold.
The clear sky improved his visibility greatly as he flew into the air.

Sneezing, Mouse left the shelter of the tree, hugging herself tight to try and stop shivering. She was still soaked, and now it was so cold, so...I gotta get home, or I'll get sick, she thought, sneezing again.
Mouse hoped the dragon made it okay. He probably did...those things were tough. Shivering horribly, she began to jog out, heading for home. Every now and then she had to stop, rub her numbed hands together. "Au-Auntie'll be s-sooo mad."

In the cool night air, Mordar continued flying over the coast, and, needing some light, shot a blast of fire into the distance. It exploded and provided a nice light for him to fly by.
He landed in the area that he had shot the fire at, and sat down again to allow himself to be warmed by the fire. He also wondered where Mouse was.

Mouse stopped, spotting a light in the distance. What's that? She began to rub her arms, picking up the pace in her walk. It felt a bit weird to walk now, like her legs couldn't feel anything, and the ground didn't really exist. She kept going, until...
"S-s-s'you!" she smiled a bit, stopping a bit away from Mordar. "Y-You made it okay!"

Mordar saw Mouse, but didn't acknowledge her at first. Then he saw that she was familiar, so he let down his guard. It was warmer by the fire that he had created, so he stayed there, and started eating some of the fish he saved.
The clear sky persisted and he looked at Mouse, checking if the fire had warmed her enough to get her to walk home.
