I just can't agree with you there. As a fan of Animorphs since I was six or seven, my heart broke at seeing the blatant rip off with a bad plot line. They were taking over Earth to do Earth things? At least the Yeerks planned on bulldozing everything and making it like their own planet. I agree that it's stupid they're taking over the Earth to do Earth things...but maybe I never saw the Animorphs angle cuz I never got into it. ^^; But when it comes down to it, I saw the plot as, ahem, "very heavily influenced by" (read, ripped from) It Conquered the World, where the aliens possess the humans and everyone's all HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY LOLZ! Except It Conquered the World was awesome in that the aliens were bats that flew out of a giant cucumber's armpits. The one thing that I did think was absolutely stupid in The Host was the fact that ONE KISS made oh-so-strong Melanie fall for a guy. And the physical abuse and stuff. ...you know, now that I talk about it, I dunno WHY I like The Host. xD I just remember reading it and thinking, "This is actually INTERESTING. Especially compared to Twilight." FFFFFFFFUUUUUU--! By the by, speaking of fans, did oyu know my sister and her daughters are all Twitards? Even the FOUR YEAR OLD. And they can't understand why I don't like it. ^^;

I read part of the first book, then thought it was boring so I gave up reading it. Then the movie came out and all the girls in my class went gaga for Edward while I remained sane. They said I never gave Twilight a chance, so I watched the movie and disliked it even more. Then they said I was being too judgmental; the books were waaay better than the movies. So I read the books. It took me less than a week to read them all because it was a simple read. And guess what? Still hated it.
If HTTYD does become the new fad, good. I think that HTTYD deserves it; Twilight promotes stalkerism and insults vampires.

After reading this whole thread, hm, where to start... XD
Well, I've only read Twilight, though New Moon's around here somewhere. I had a... long layover in an airport once, and so I think my reading of Twilight was colored by my choice of either that or boredom. But in my own free time I've never really had an interest in reading New Moon. I doubt I'll ever make it to Breaking Dawn, especially after some of my friends described the rather...involved birth scene.
Basically I found the ending of Twilight unnecessary and couldn't agree more with that video posted earlier in this thread XD I got to the end of that book expecting Bella to be vampired-up =\ Overall I'm dispassionate about what I've heard/read about Twilight. Guess I fall in the category of don't-love-or-hate-it.
I *do* find it kind of...strange that there are so many Anti-Twilight fans who seem to revel in their hate of the series, enough to dissect why they hate it so much and spend so much time in expressing their hate. The rabid fangirls I get; they're dedicating time and energy to something they love (whether I understand why they love ir or not). But the fact that there's a whole community for those who hate Twilight...? I'd rather gather and meet people over a common interest instead of a common hate. Y'know? S'just my thoughts on that.

^ Well, with TS, they're starting to become a literary-discussion forum, not just a LOL SLAM TWILIGHT forum. But I can understand why it exists. I mean, with all the hype and fangirls screaming ITS PERFECT EDWARDS HOTT AND YOU R JEALOUS, its nice to relax on a forum and not do that.
And I have no problem with looking at and dissecting the books (I do that to everything I read, lol), because they have some reeeeally weird morals in them (albiet unintended). I can't stand the antis who act as crazy as the rabid fans. Most of the folks on TS are sane, thank the maker.

I didn't even KNOW Twilight existed until Breaking Dawn, nobody in my family did. And we only knew because we were in Ohio and heard "New installment in the epic series" or something like that on the radio. Mom only wanted to read it because the ad on the radio ( ), but I found and read some of it to her (she's dyslexic and doesn't like to try working through it when deciding to buy a book) and she said "No really, what does it say?" When I proved that's what it said she rolled her eyes and told me to put that trash back before I get a disease. Then imagine my surprise when I get to school and EVERYONE LOVES IT. This convo is what pretty much decided I would never TOUCH a Twilight book. Crystal (girl I went to school with): (rambles on about vampires and werewolves) Me: (trying to get her attention to WORK ON THE PROJECT AT HAND) "Yeah, and then their baby's the Loch Ness Monster!" Crystal: (completely serious) "You read Twilight!?" Me: "What?"

LOL Elisabeth XD Yeah, the Twilight bashing over at TS is really a release from us having to deal with Twitards all day long. At least, it is to me.

Luckily the only Twilight fans I deal with are Morgan (annoying whenever Twilight bashing comes up with the FB RP thing, one night in paticular comes to mind... XD), my friend Gipsye, and this scrawny girl Nikki.

Uhhh I read the 4 books, read through the whole damn thing, and to be honest I thought it was rather entertaining. The plot was stupid, Edward is the WRONG portrayal of what is supposed to be the perfect guy and Bella is a whiney, emo bitch. Putting that aside, it didn't really annoy me... Not at all, actually, I was humored. The whole thing kept me laughing, and I suggest you guys read it the same way. Although, I have to admit, I saw the first movie... and I felt like vomiting. WORST MOVIE EVER. It wasn't even funny anymore. Now, I don't bash people who like Twilight. I just assume they can't be very bright, literature-wise, but that's alright. I know plenty of nice people that enjoy reading Twilight. So yeah, I'm not going to bash anyone... And to be honest, I read the other book she wrote, The Host. And I honestly enjoyed that one. But to be honest, that's over 2 years ago, and I'm 16 now. So yeah, what might have seemed awesome back then might not be bearable anymore now, I don't know. To be honest I can't be arsed to read it all over again now, but perhaps someday, when I'm reaaaally bored, I will.

Edward craps rainbows and butterflys It's true. I was there. I saw it happen. Twilight, how I loathe it. I'm telling you (reader) after the movies and books stop coming out, it'll be remembered as a franchise of badness.
