I'm just asking, I don't mean anything by it... I can't speak for the entire world, but I know I don't. I have known quite a few people to read Twilight, like it, and be sane. Anyways, Twilight. I know this regards the books, but my only actual straight-on contact with them was when seeing the two films. Don't ask. Seriously, don't ask me why. However, I actually have written a fanfiction (well, maybe "fan" isn't the most apt description) called A Nightmare at Twilight on Elm Street which follows the exploits of the vampire Fredward Kruegllen and whatnot.

Ah. Alright. It's just that I like Twilight, but I'm not all "OMG! ROBERT PATTERSON!" or anything like that. Sure, at time's it's hardly a believable plot, but it is well-written, and I respect that. :3

I'm just asking, I don't mean anything by it... I know a few people who are 'meh' on it (and like I said, I'm not as viciously against Meyer as some people are; for example, I like The Host), and a few people who are fans that don't go crazy at the mere mention of the word. But, for the most part, it seems to me like Twilight is one of those things you either rabidly hate or rabidly love, with a handful of exceptions in between. (That said, I do love to make fun of it...^^;...I respect the fans (the sane ones, anyway; I have had a few run-ins with some really mean girls who practicalyl tore out my hair because I said I didn't like it), and I won't judge the fans. And I don't make fun of SMeyer, that's just cheap. It's the books themselves I tease. Am I making any sense? I dunno.)

Personally, having read the books, I don't see them as particularly well-written at all. T hey feel sloppy and halting... like a high schooler wrote them. Looks more like unpolished beginners work. I'm by no means a pro, and I don't consider any of my writing novel material. But I do have a good feel of how well something flows. I don't hate it because of that, though. I hate it because I'm so ridiculously sick of having it shoved down my throat. And as far as the comment on LJ Smith, she's an author. I mentioned her because someone claimed the Vampire Diaries popped up as a result of SMeyer.

Ah, sorry, I didn't know that. I generally try to stay away from YA lit, as it's mostly filled with crappy Twilight inspired vamp 'romances', if you can call them that. I actually prefer children's fantasy. i mean, some of the most well-written fantasy worlds are found in the children's section. (HP, BArtimaeus, Percy jackson, HTTYD)
EDIT: OMG, I almost forgot The Hobbit!! How terrible of me.

I admit, I didn't mind Twilight (The book) ...it was good enough, and new moon wasn't that bad (well, at first.. the end was.. xD), but after that x.x Eclipse and Breaking Dawn... Eh... Lets just say... I wouldn't read them again.
And the movies D8 Didn't like them at all, really.
I went to the bookstore to buy HTTYD, and saw.. the manga version of Twilight?! Oh, great...

In a form of Bane's response
Twilight: Okay, not bad. Gorey and stuff New Moon: Well that was erm... stupid of her Eclipse: WTF IS THE POINT OF THIS STORY? I'M HALFWAY THROUGH THE BOOK AND I CAN'T FIND A PLOT LINE Breaking dawn: Ruined the series. I'm not kidding. The books were okay until this one. Long, drawn out, and BOORINNG. It took me a month to read it because of it's drawn out plot. I skipped about 6 chpters of jacop, 8 of edward, and skipped to the ending out of pure boredom
It was overall, horrible. I will NEVER EVER attempt to read them again

That settles it. I'm buying the manga to have a few epic LOLz. And then I shall LOL even harder when I burn it...But that'll waste money, so yeah...

A killing to make resources for a page of one of Meyer's books or comics isn't mercy, it's downright homicide xD

Twilight: My god everyone in this school is retarded. They are obviously vampires. New Moon: *skimmed over it* Wtf when did they get in Italy? Eclipse: I forgot what happened completely. Was there even a book? Breaking Dawn: Oh look at the cute little babyOH MY FREAKING GOD. I didn't like Twilight, but the raging antis are worse[/b] than the fans. I've never met a rabid fangirl. I've met semi-rabid fangirls, yes, but they don't blabber on about Twilight nearly as much as the antis. What the crap? I know a few people who are 'meh' on it (and like I said, I'm not as viciously against Meyer as some people are; for example, I like The Host)... I just can't agree with you there. As a fan of Animorphs since I was six or seven, my heart broke at seeing the blatant rip off with a bad plot line. They were taking over Earth to do Earth things? At least the Yeerks planned on bulldozing everything and making it like their own planet. BY THE WAY...here's manga!Edward and manga!Jacob. There isn't actually a graphic novel Twilight; the Japanese version of Twilight is the normal book but with illustrations of them and scenes thrown in.
