Say what???XD Well I saw the trailer again and Toothless doesn't look so different. I got just too excited that I stopped watching the trailer like 30 sec. Before thinking that it was done . And book of dragons doesnt look so good like I said. And I doubt Hiccup is stupiid enough to jump off Toothless XD. I think I REALLY need to talk to Peter, just to clarify a few things that are in my way .

Okay, I think you all have finally convinced me. Gift of the Night Fury looks EXACTLY like how I wrote Hatch. Like the "Now we have something to celebrate!" at the end... it's like they ripped it out of my story! www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTi3EkAu7ssEDIT: But I still think mine will be cooler. ;D

It is. It's written to be a 22 minute TV show. Fortunately they have strayed from the "holiday special" bit, which means good things for it. Also, I now understand why one of the writers I found said he "rewrote" it -- because it's a different story now.
But I still think mine is better, especially how I get my eggs to hatch. It feels cleaner, more harmonious with the rest of the story than just dumping the eggs in water.

I do wonder if Hatch IS Gift though. It pretty much has to be from what I see. I'll ping Pete about this. I now understand why one of the writers I found said he "rewrote" it -- because it's a different story now. Interesting, where'd you hear that?

Hey well, Pete hasn't replied you? I actually wanna ask him questions myself so you won't have to do so for me and us... Gosh I'm still too excited XD.

Oh my gods! There is so much contradictory information flying about on the Internet! I now think that their being the same thing is about 50/50. So someone flip a coin and see what we get. :)
The storyboard (if you've read it) just screams out the "find a tradition" ending. So it makes me awfully suspicious when, in the trailer, Stoick finds "something to celebrate." But I don't know. Last I heard, the holiday special was still going to air.

I would say it's closer to like 99%. If you happened to catch the storyboard for Hatch when it leaked out, you would see undeniable parallels between that and the promo video. Remember in the storyboard how all the Dragons suddenly and inexplicably leave? And in the promo video, you hear the lines:
Stoick: "Where are all of our dragons going?" Hiccup: "I don't know!"
That and the fact that you actually see Dragons hatch in the video is a pretty big dead giveaway.

Haha, so you've read the storyboard, right? Do you remember what Stoick says to the Vikings of Berk (I'm trying not to ruin it for NorthernStar)? Somehow the story has to wrap this storyline together with the "hatching" storyline, or else it will feel incomplete. So guess what the Vikings of Berk will be involved in?

oneill5491: I know, but then why does Hatch still exist? Up until the end of production it was called Hatch. Animators still list Hatch on their resumes. It's also what the storyboard was called, and even what the new "rewriter" I found calls it. Why isn't Gift airing in December? Why is Hatch still on Wikipedia?
But anyway, I still agree with you, just less.
