Awesome! LOL, Jon Snow in HTTYD... that's just epic. Even from the beginning, I had faith in this sequel. And seeing how they're approaching the series, it's giving me even more faith. It feels different than Shrek or Madagascar somehow. Personally, I can't wait. I feel as if Dreamworks has gotten better with their sequels since Shrek anyway. And if it's bad, we can just ignore it

hmmm some sequels are good and some are not
HTTYD i think the story should be expand into a sequel but make it just the movie was (but i'm not agreeing on the whole Astrid getting kidnap stuff it makes her look alittle......weak) although i want it to be a mix of how to be a pirate(treasure finding is fun), how to speck dragonese(Romans kipnaping dragons could do alittle), and how to twist a dragon's tale(i know the Viking could stop a volcano from exploding by finding a stone which is really a dragon egg)
I don't know why people didn't think of this idea but here it is: They should introduce Hiccup having awesome SWORDFIGHTING SKILL like in the book (hey viking got to defense themselves with something right)

I'm also happy they confirmed a release date for the third one. I thought it was going to be in 2017 or 2018. But nope! 2016!

Cool. I guess I should start reading the books Don't say it like it's going to be a chore! LOL This is really interesting since... well, the way the books are plunging, this means we're in for a pretty DANG INTENSE end. And the books aren't through yet, of course. Also, I guess one of my pet theories may be debunked. In "Steal a Dragon's Sword", Cressida Cowell seems to answer back to the movie in a lot of ways. One of which being her introducing her Hiccup as the third in a series of influential dragon-related guys named Hiccup. And Hiccup the First actually sounds a WHOLE LOT like movie Hiccup, given: -Dragons were attacking humans - A dragon is sent to destroy his village, but gets wounded -Hiccup I assists him, nurses him back to health, learns about him and becomes the first human to ride a dragon-He introduces a coexistent lifestyle with the dragons, where dragons are treated as equals and assist with hunting and farming. It's almost like she wrote a little hole in her story for the movie as it is to kinda fit. Given, there are a lot of silly things that make it more a crackpot theory than anything actually viable. Such as everyone being named the same things. XD Maybe it's because I'm a former Zelda timeline theorist, and I'm too used to over analyzing these kinds of details. XDXDXD

That's an awesome theory Hahaha, thanks! I really don't honestly think anything will come of it, but it's really fun to think about. I mean, if it were true, it would mean that the movies and the books both technically happened in the same/a pretty similar canon! Which of course is impossible when you compare the movie directly to the events of the books on the assumption that movie 1= book 1. But if the movie's events are actually hundreds of years before the book's events.... that's a whole different animal, isn't it? One of the things that piqued my interest in this direction is that, as far as I know (and I know/remember relatively little despite my massive stack o HTTYD related media, so forgive me if I'm completely off base here), Movie!Hiccup's name is never really officially stated from a credible source to be Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. It's definitely not like the books, where his full name is used all the time for effect. Movie Hiccup simply introduces himself and is known as Hiccup. So is this intentional? Could Movie!Hiccup actually be meant to be an entirely different Hiccup than HHHIII of the books? Probably not. But it's fun to think about. Especially since it kinda works. O.o; It kinda works... really well. (("Steal a Dragons Sword", the first real post-movie novel in the series, was kinda fun anyway, since Cowell really does seem to use it to answer right back to the movie in a lot of ways. The dragons all attack the humans, under a hypnotic spell called the RED Rage. Sounds Red Deathy, to me. And what do you know, it happens to originate from a Seadragonous Giganticus Maximus. Hiccup's riding dragon, the Windwalker (who... was a wounded dragon Hiccup chose to ride anyway) suddenly starts being described as beautiful, shining black (his color isn't mentioned before that, as far as I remember). Like a certain other riding dragon we know. And of course all that stuff I mentioned about a certain Hiccup I, who sounds really suspiciously like a certain movie I saw once. And of course, it all could (and probably does) imply nothing. But even so, the fact that Cowell appears to have basically warmly welcomed part of the movie's myth into her own is just such a cool thing in and of itself. She seems to be such an amazing, down to earth person. I have so much love for her. XD ))
