I'm just going off the fact that we don't really see that many seniors because they're not that necessary. Heck, the only reason Mildew really needs to be old is both for the "he's from that old dragon-hating generation" angle and for being the Viking equivalent of that old man who yells at you to stay off his lawn.
But... in the same strand, with perhaps the exception of GOTNF, we see very little children. But of course there have to be children. Berk wouldn't survive without a large enough growth rate.
Relatively few teens we see too.
