"The Great Journey ends here." The most bada** quote from a halo-based anime I have ever beared witness to. Anyhoo, if you haven't already guessed, this is a discussion thread for an open Halo roleplay, since more people then just myself seem to be interested in one Yay for geeks! (Late arrivals are accepted into the roleplay) If you have any ideas you want to throw in, then go right ahead and post them, I'm open to ideas. If you have your character all ready to go, then post them here and I'll confirm them XD Just adhere to the legitimate Halo universe (i.e. SPARTAN-III's do not have customizable armor and are basically budget super-soldiers to be thrown away on suicide runs, so don't go making one a bada** Noble-6 kind of character.) You can have more then one character, and I'm going to make SPARTAN slots limited. So that means first come first serve, with a maximum of four SPARTANs (One squadron). Personally, I encourage the use of both one SPARTAN character and one non-SPARTAN character. (Example: ODST, marine, navy, officer, etc.) Anyone who wants to be a SPARTAN has to keep in mind; all armor patterns for Mk.5 and Mk.6 MJOLNIR armor are exactly the same, no deviations. SPARTANs are also known to have sociopathic personalities, meaning that they are usually incapable of having or understanding regular human emotion. The closest thing to a display of hapiness is a traditional SPARTAN symbol of curling their index finger and thumb into an upwards curve in front of their mouth, to look like a smile. They're capable of learning emotions and feelings, like John-117 does with Cortana, but that's a long and difficult process, which I'll expect you to explain in your character sheet if you decide to have that in there XP. And that during the time of Delta Halo, most SPARTAN-II's are about 19-21 years old, at most. Remember; they started their service when they were only fifteen. There will be no involvement of characters from the games or books, unless it leads to it directly. I'm open to ideas, so guys, feel free to throw what you want out there. What I have so far is starting during the Defense of Earth, right before the events of Delta Halo (Which would be where Halo 2 starts). This would make sense to have both regular soldiers involved in the defense, and a SPARTAN team, because according to the books, there are a few SPARTAN-II teams that are present on Earth during the defense. After a series of coincidential events, the members of this roleplay can wind up in their own dramatically epic adventure of alien-slaying awesomeness!!!! *Fangirl squeel!!!* I'm so excited, this is going to be pure epicness!!!! Lists of squads, members and rolls.

Name: Taylor Luck Age: 22 Hair: Short, jet black and kept swept from her eyes. Slightly longer then regulation length, though officers have much bigger things to worry about then long hair. Eyes: A stormy grey-ish blue colour. Height: 5'6" Weight: 121lbs Gender: Female Branch: Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST) Rank: Corporal Squad: Kilo Squadron Designition: Kilo 1-6 "Bulldog" Description: Taylor, or "Tay" as she preffers, is a fit and strong young woman. With long legs, a slim frame, and toned muscles, she's the picture of a career military girl. Despite plenty of time in her armor, she retains a light tan from living off-world on a rather sunny colony planet for a few years before the war began. Her hair is kept longer then regulation for her own personal prefferences, and is jet black. She has no trouble keeping her bangs out of her eyes, which are a stormy grey-ish blue with a serious cold intensity to them. Demeanor: Tay enjoys the thrill of being in the ODST; jumping feet first from the belly of a freighter into the middle of a heated gunfight. Even though she's designated sniper for her squadron, that doesn't mean she won't enjoy a close skirmish now and again. It's the fight itself that's such a rush for her, it doesn't matter what sort of fight, as long as her life is on the line. But despite her death wish, she is a team member, and will put herself in needlessly dangerous situations to save a brother or sister in arms. Abilities/Weapons: Tay is an artist with a sniper rifle, and preffers the reliability of her SRS99D-S2 AM sniper rifle, and a M6C/SOCOM tactical sidearm. She follows orders to the dot, and will see them out to the end, even if they'll mean her death. She's dedicated to the survival of her squadron. She has the basic understanding of trauma treatment required to keep her comrades from dying. Disadvantages: Tay is by no means a leader. She couldn't come up with a tactical plan if her life depended on it. Because she has a practical death wish, she puts herself in needlessly dangerous situations, and will often opt to be put on dangerous asignments just for the thrill. Such actions can often times be more harmful to the squad then to her. History: Tay was born on Earth, and had a need for action from an early age. She got into fights, stole, smoked, and did illegal substances. Eventually, when she was only sixteen, she got in deep with the law. She was given a choice to join the UNSC or to face jail time, and so of course she took the military route. It provided her an escape from the troubles of youth. She eagerly became a great sniper, finding a sort of peace when looking down a high powered scope. But it wasn't enough for her, and eventually she sent in a request for ODST training. When she was accepted, they shipped her off to a remote training academy on a colony planet, which they suspected would fall soon after Harvest. She barely graduated before the Covenant attacked in force. With the rest of her class and instructors, they managed to hold the line and get most of the colonists off the planet before they were rescued, but they lost more men then they should have that day. Taylor vowed that she would carry on the fight until her last breath, for the sake of those unfortunate souls who died during the defense. Stuff: Taylor has the UNSC crest tattooed on the blade of her right shoulder, on her back. She also has the ODST symbol on her right arm, along with the saying "Feet First Into Hell". A few scars dot her flesh here and there, some fresh and some faded. Her only personal item is a titanium flask. Picture: The one with the sniper, essentially. I do not own either of these images, they both belong to their respective Deviantartists.

Name: Alexander Koenig
Age: 34
Hair: Brown hair, always just longer than regulation.
Eyes: Flat gray with green flecks
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 138lbs
Gender: Male
Branch: Navy
Rank: Captain
Ship: UNSC Trial By Darkness
Description: Captain Koenig is slim for his age and, though not very fit, has applied himself exceptionally well to the military lifestyle. His skin has a rather pale complexion to it, and he prefers to keep his brown hair only just longer than regulation. His gray eyes never fail to convey his seriousness and intelligence.
Demeanor: Alexander has always been tactically inclined, even when he was young. He has applied his tactical prowess to his career in the UNSC, allowing his physical failures to be overlooked by his superiors. While he is a well qualified officer, he has an appreciation for the day-to-day banter that goes on between units, end both encourages the slight competitiveness as well as occasionally takes part; though he knows full well when to refrain. Alexander has also been known for his occasional mood swings, which often cause him to become unusually quiet. He always enjoys the thrill of commanding a battle, but he knows that keeping as many people alive as possible while still completing the mission is more important.
Abilities/Weapons: Alexander is a well experienced officer and a stunning tactician. His position as the commanding officer on a ship allows him the resources to fulfill most objectives without being directly engaged in the conflict. While he tries his best to avoid conflict, he is not entirely hopeless in a battle. Captain Koenig has ample experience with the BR55HB SR to use it in most combat scenarios, and he always carries an M6C PDWS as a reserve weapon.
Disadvantages: A little known secret is that Alexander never fully passed the physical requirements for joining the UNSC, but he was permitted to join on account of his tactical prowess and command potential. And while he has plenty of experience, he has always placed the lives of his crew before the success of the mission. This has been interpreted as both good and bad by his superiors.
History: Alexander Koenig was born on the colony world of Arcadia, though he was never comfortable with the recreational lifestyle he was raised with. Things changed when he was 13 years old, however, when the Covenant first invaded. While Alexander and his family survived, life on Arcadia was never the same. After the Covenant were forced off Arcadia, Alexander became a prominent figure in his local area for maintaining order and continuing to transport supplies to the UNSC, despite his young age. These actions got the UNSC’s attention, as they recognized his ability to plan strategies and execute them and sent him to the Luna OCS Academy when he was still 17 years old. He graduated several years later and with the rank of commander was stationed on the UNSC Trial By Darkness, a Phoenix Class colony ship that was modified for combat. After six years serving under Captain James Butch, Alexander had earned many hours of live combat experience against the Covenant. During one battle, however, the Trial was knocked out of operation by a Covenant ship and boarded shortly thereafter. Due to Commander Koenig’s quick thinking, they were able to repel the Covenant and save the Trial. This cam at the heavy cost of nearly 3,000 lives, Captain Butch included. After returning to UNSC controlled space for repairs, Alexander was promoted and given command of the Trial. Since that day though, he vowed to always keep as much of his crew alive through a mission as possible without jeopardizing the mission.
Stuff: Captain Koenig doesn’t keep many personal items on him, but he does wear a necklace that has a piece of glassed rock that was recovered from Arcadia after the Covenant glassed the planet. ______________________________________________________________________________
Name: Chris-G325
Age: 14(I actually went to check the timeline, graduating the Spartan program as a teenager was normal for Gamma Company, for those wondering why he's young)
Hair: Albino white hair kept at regulation.
Eyes: Pale gray eyes.
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 102lbs
Gender: Male
Branch: Navy/ONI S-3/Spartan III
Rank: Petty Officer Third Class
Spartan Team: Team Xiphos
Designation: Gamma 325 "Ghost"
Description: Chris is a strong and fit teen, partially due to the intense training and augmentation he went under. Though he has a case of albinism, Chris has no record of suffering any symptoms beyond the pallor of his appearance. His slightly more lean build allows him to be more agile and stealthy than his fellow Spartans, but it rarely is a problem should he get in a fight with another Spartan as glaring his cold and unnerving pale gray eyes are often enough to make them back down.
Demeanor: Chris, as all Spartans, suffers from sociopathic tendencies and will usually not talk unless he has something to say. Due to his youth, however, some personality can occasionally be gleamed from him. Due to be much younger than most soldiers, Chris has learned to live by a doctrine that only actions matter, as words had little effect when he first joined up with a platoon of marines.
Abilities/Weapons: Similarly to most Spartan IIIs, Chris is outfitted with Semi-Powered Infiltration(SPI) Armor. Along with this armor, Chris equips himself with his M392 DMR, which though it is out of date, he prefers it over the BR55. Chris also keeps two M6Cs on him, rather than just one. Though it is unprofessional, Chris has always enjoyed duel-wielding his M6Cs. He specializes in scouting and recon operations.
Disadvantages: Due to his Spartan training, which he started at age seven, Chris often shows sociopathic tendencies. He has also had very little experience in the field, due to how little time he has been active.
History: Chris’s early childhood is a mystery, as he was conscripted into the Spartan III program at age seven and was sent to Onyx. He would later become a prominent member of Spartan Team Xiphos of Gamma Company, and specialized in scouting and reconnaissance. A few weeks after they received word of the Fall of Reach, about seven years after they started their Spartan training, Team Xiphos was reassigned from Onyx to serve from the UNSC Trial By Darkness under Captain Alexander Koenig.

I'll definitely join in on this. I'll fill out forms later, but I'd like to reserve a Spartan slot, and can I make a Sangheili character?

You can definately have a Spartan slot, but a Sangheili would make things a tad complicated. This is still before the Human-Sangheili alliance, even if it's only a few weeks before. XD

Oh, okay XD I'll see if I can make a regular marine then. I'll have to make one later though

Well there's no rush, I haven't even finished a full plot yet XD But if you can handle either having three characters or delaying on making a second, you could always make a Sangheili later, if we managed to actually make it that far!

And now my Spartan OC is up! I still can't believe they deployed teenage Spartans.

Well, John-117 was only 16 when he was first deployed against Insurrectionists. So he was 18, give or take a year, when he started fighting the Covenant. Edit: Not to mention the fact that SPARTAN-III's are deployed as early as 14 years old! Now THAT's brutal.

X3 Well, lets start with the basics. Considdering I want it to start right before the events of Delta Halo, so essentially it would be the beggining of Halo 2, do you guys want it to start in the middle of the battle? Or do you want it to start like it does in Halo 2, like.....RIGHT before the battle happens?
