EP107 "How to Pick Your Dragon"-- Discussion

So according to Wikipedia, the name of this episode is How to Pick Your Dragon. I know Wikipedia isn't the greatest source, so can someone confirm or deny this...? I would but I don't really have time ATM

In the meantime, I have nothing else to call it and we need a thread.

So anyway, I think this might be the episode where Stoic gets his dragon. I know it's been said that's episode 8, but for certain reasons I think it could be this one as well. We'll just have to wait and see.

I think that messed it up saying it's episode 8 (duh) i mean in the preview you can clearly see the blue wings of the ******* **** (sorry didn't want to spoil it to the people who didn't watch the comic con panel)

according to the preview Ouch Toothless is getting really beat up in the episode then the last episodes (*cough*namely Terrible Twos,In Dragons we truse,and Alvin and the Outcasts *cough*) poor guy

In the Viking culture of burk, battle scars and survival are a sign of MANLINESS, so this is good for toothless and the ladies... ;3 *totally a joke guys*

Man, it does look like this episode is going to include at least one bad day for Toothless! And by extension, Hiccup. I get the impression he's going to have a hard time getting through to his dad why he feels so bad about someone taking Toothless--not just from not being that great at conveying complicated feelings, but from his dad not yet seeing dragons as friends the way he does. I am SO looking forward to the moment when Stoick clicks with his new dragon and finally *gets* it; I bet it's going to be awesome.

But yay, Stoic has a dragon! And it's a Thunderdrum! Awesome. Just hope Hiccup doesn't get mauled trying to train it, and Stoic doesn't mess up too badly.
Love this episode.

Review time: This episode is good. Reason to be, it focus much of the relationship between Stoic and Hiccup. When they flew to the sky seeing Berk, it was a very nice touch. Also, this episode is funny too. I mean poor toothless. Judging from his expression, we feel sorry for him. The thunderdrum is a good choice for stoic. Can't wait to see more of the new pair. The negatives I have is that they continue to reuse scenes. They only reused one scene in here, but still I can't stand for these guys reusing scenes. *sigh* At least the show's getting better. Good episode, Nice touches, and a hilarious episode. This episodes a keeper. I'll be here same time next week.

Okay....my comments: the Hiccup's hand over Stoick's and touching Toothless, I thought of that...okay, not exactly that, but Hiccup's hand over my character's hand and touching Toothless, my idea! And the Romantic Flight thing...wow...and the Forbidden Friendship move between Stoick and Thornado...wow...so a repeat from In Dragons We Trust but I don't care...speaking of repeats...the Stoick flying Toothless and shooting fireballs at the boars and the boars going into the barn and Gobber closing the doors...so from How To Start A Dragon Training Academy...but once again I don't care! This episode was awesome, the only downer was the promo for episode 9 wasnt shown...oh. my. gosh. the heather episode is only (hopefully) two weeks away! EEEEEP! Finally we'll be able to get a look at this girl.

I'm so confused! I read that How To Pick Your Dragon was episode 7...but it was episode 8!!! and next week is episode 8 and then episode 9 is the Dragon Flower thing then the Heather episode!!! Someone please help me become not confused!

How to Pick Your Dragon is episode 7.

This was a pretty good episode. In terms of the episode as a whole, it wasn't as good as the last few, but Thornado really made up for some of that... He's a freaking badass.

I agree totally with you guys, and I couldn't summarize this episode better than Ridersofderp (the awkward romanntic flight scene, lol).
I expected less from this episode, since the last one was awesome, but it really surprised me!
And I laughed really hard!

I liked this episode....Not as much as the others, but it was pretty good XD I feel bad for Toothless...He was abused like an animal Stoick should be in prison for his crimes.

It was also so sad when Stoick touched Toothless' snout as if it were a heartwarming moment, and then he's all like "yeah, whatever". That was just mean XD

The romantic flight scene was weird...

The evil boars with glowing eyes were a bit...eh. I don't think the glowing red eyes were neccesary.

And I really liked Thornado xD At least now he won't torture Toothless anymore But I can't wait to see how they're bond develops

I adored this episode. I'm a sucker for any sort of parent/child things. It was good to see them talking a bit more instead of a brief chat. And how Hiccup still has problems getting his dad to listen. And Gobber is still the one to do the communication they can't get through.

Though the awkward romantic flight was still hilarious. Yes, Hiccup, take your dad on the same flight thing you brought your not!girlfriend on.

Then again, that just might say how awkward Hiccup is with this whole having a semi-healthy relationship with humans. Took Stoick on taht flight AND went flying with him through the Test Drive course. (Which seems like it'd be a pretty important personal place for Hiccup considering the emotions associated with that scene.) Also Hiccup not knowing about Honey and the Hatchet, while Stoick recognized it. That sounds like a common thing, so for Hiccup to now know it...

Also the wink, wink, nudge, nudge joke. "That's what is looks like to be ridden by a four hundred pound man all day." REALLY, Hiccup. Almost spit out my drink at that. (Though maybe that was just my dirty mind.)

Poor Fishlegs though. I really hope he actually has parents, or Stoick's comment was really mean there.

But it was also awesome to see Stoick being kind of d'awww worthy. And seeing how he met his wife! And insecure Astrid! And more bitter Hiccup instead of just snarky Hiccup. And possessive Hiccup. I don't think he sees Toothless as a possession, just Toothless is HIS friend and he didn't want his dad always dragging him away.

And Thornado is pretty damn boss. You protect your buddy, and keep being badass, Thornado!

...also, these boars are really scary. When did boars eat DRAGONS. This is the second time a boar has gone after a dragon.
