SURPRISE!!! I have returned! ;D And what's this? A story about Toothless's point a view throughout the movie? Well how about that... XD Anywayz, ONTO THE INTRO!!! -------------------------- Introduction: That Fateful Night Most dragons have horns; I don't. Most dragons hunt in packs; I don't. Most dragons have names; I don't. Yes, that's right. I was born without a name. I'm nameless. And you know what? I think I'm okay with that. I don't need a name to prove myself. Why don't I have a name? I am told that my parents abandoned me when I was really young, like, before they could even give me a name. Wen I was a hatchling, I was taken in by the mighty wings of the Red Queen herself. Today I stand by her side as her loyal son. She never really gave me a name. She felt it was too limited for my awesomeness. Instead she called me her "Darling Angel", "Dearest Child" and sometimes even "Baby Boy". (Which I hated by the way. I am not a baby!) Humans call me "Night Fury". Other dragons called me "Nameless", which makes sense, because only my Mother could call me "Baby Boy". If another other dragon had the balls to call me that, I'd kick their tails inside out. She had once again called us to a meeting in the volcano simply known to us as "The Nest". It was an active volcano, and it could erupt at any time. But we're dragons. We could handle the heat. We are fireproof after all. Do you see that Night Fury, standing on the lowest perch? That's me. "My stomach yearns once again for dinner." she announced in her powerful booming voice. "There is a city South of Raven Point by the name of Berk." Yeah I know, humans come up with the wierdest of names, don't they? "I want my cattle. Do not prevail!" She let out a mighty roar, sending the five thousand dragons out of there. I was about to fly away too, but she stopped me. "As for you, my Dear Child," she gestered to me. "I have one special job for you." "I'm listening," I speak, perching my ears up. "I want you to bring in a human sacrifice to me. Dead or alive, I don't care. Just don't fail me." She said that in a cold, stern voice. You wouldn't want to fail her with that voice. Hell, you wouldn't want to fail her at all. Trust me. "I won't let you down, Mother." I growled, bowing my head in respect. Without another word, I took off into the night, blending in with the pitch black starry sky. --------- One great advantage of being a Night Fury is that I can completely blend in with the night. No one would ever see me coming, even if I was only a few feet away from them! I could shoot a fire blast at someone and they wouldn't even know what had hit them. I sit back and relax, resting my wings to watch the other dragons raid this "Berk" city that's so important to the humans. The terrified screams of the humans was music to my ears, and I smiled at the thought of taking one of them as a human sacrifice. Mother would be so pleased. It was time for me to join the fun. I take the skies, soaring above the burning city, searching for the perfect human sacrifice. There was just too many to choose from. But while I search, why not have a little fun with the humans while I'm still here? Why not simply enjoy myself for a while? After all, there's nothing wrong with having fun on the job! I let out a proud screech to announce my arrival as the only warning the humans would ever get from me. "Night Fury!!" one of them shouts. "Get down!" Yeah, you'd better. My lungs fill with fuel and flows to my throat. The gas from my breath ignites it and I shoot a fire blast at one of their buildings. Boom! The building explodes from my fireball. Ahh, I sure love the smell of my own ash. Breathing fire have never felt so good. Let's do it again! I let out another screech, indicating that I was about to shoot another fireball. BOOM!! There goes another one! Ahhh, that felt great! I love the smell of freedom in the morning! Just then, I spotted what I was looking for. The perfect human sacrifice. And I was going for it. It was a man, a tall muscular man. He wore a long, camouflage green robe, covered by what looks like dragon skin. A thick, furry cape hung from the back side of him and his long, Scottish red beard hung in pride from his chin. Most dragons wouldn't dare to mess with him, as there was no telling on what he could do with those muscles. Me? I wasn't like other dragons. I was adventurous, ambitious, longing for excitement in life. I was invincible, and I needed absolutely NO help whatsoever. That is, until now. It was as though Hell itself broke loose and started shooting weapons at me. A heavy rope threw itself around my body, throwing me off balance. I tried flapping to regain balance, but alas, no prevail, for the ropes only grew tighter on my scales. I was falling, with no surface to catch me except the ground. It was like seeing my life flashing before my eyes, as gravity sucked me into her mighty death trap. The night sky grew farther away, as the ground drifted closer. I screamed as I crash hard into a tree, jabbing huge splinters into my side. The tree broke, sending me rolling violently into the dirt, leaving a trail of dead fertilizer behind. I smacked against a boulder on the way down and finally crashed against a rough surface with a hard thud. My vision faded away and black turned to white in seconds.

Aww thanks toothless11. I'm really glad you liked it. Anyway, here's chappie one. XD ------------------------------------------ Chapter 1: Shot Down Am I dead yet? That was the first thought that popped into my head as I snap open my eyes. I find myself laying on a stone cold surface. I groan, blinking my eyes to focus them. Trees, boulders, and bushes surrounded me, indicating that I was in the middle of a forest. I lift my head to see ropes bounding me to the ground. Nope, I definitely wasn't dead. But what the tail just happened? I think back to last night; I'm flying around, destroying Viking houses for the fun of it, with nothing but a loud, deafening screech as a warning, looking for the perfect human sacrifice...no. Aww, no! No, no NO!! The Queen is gonna KILL me when she finds out! I've been shot down. I'VE BEEN SHOT DOWN!! No one EVER shoots down a Night Fury! Especially those weaklings you call Vikings! Just the thought of being the FIRST Night Fury to be shot down nearly made me sick to my stomach. Not only is the Queen gonna kill me, my honor will be lost, along with my lifetime reputation. I'll be the laughing stock to all dragon kind! Oh why the gods hate me? Is it because I'm the last of my kind? Yes, that must be it. Maybe if I can get out of these binds, no body will notice. Yeah, I can do that. I move my legs to break free, but the ropes tighten their hold on me. I try again, only for the pressure to grow worse. Okay, I'm not gonna get out this way. Think, Night Fury! Think! I searched for a branch, rock, blade or whatever that can get me out of here. I was lucky enough to find a small branch to the left side of me. It was skinny, but it'll have to do. The only problem is that I was laying on my left side, with my legs facing the right. I can't use my wings because they're binded up so tightly, that if I move them, they'll break. I could use my tail, but that too couldn't move due to the ropes. I could use my head, but the branch was too far away. To sum it up, I couldn't reach the damn thing. Crack. Just then, my sensitive hearing picked on what sounded like tiny footsteps. At first, I thought it was teh wind blowing through the trees, or just my imagination. Crack! There it is again. It had to be one of the two. It just had to be. There couldn't be another logical explanation unless...pfft! Nah! What Viking would ever be stupid and crazy enough to go against a Night Fury? I would still believe that if it wasn't for the mumbling that came with the footsteps. ------------------------------------------ Enjoy.

Read it xD Still enjoy it xD. Though I honestly don't think Toothless is te last night fury, just because no other of his kind appears in the movie . Night furies ARE rare dragons. So he's probably like the only one in the area. But certainly they're not extinct Can't wait for the next chapter!

Chapter 2: First Encounters As seconds that seemed like eternity passed, the mumbling grew louder. A Viking was closing in, I knew it. It was getting closer and closer by the minute. Maybe if I play dead, he'll go away. Yeah! I can do that. I could only hold my breath as the footsteps grew even louder. My heart hammered in my chest, it was as though it would burst out at any given moment. Just when I thought it couldn't get any faster, it did. I picked up breathing as well. I couldn't deny it. I was in the presence of a Viking. And he had a blade with him. He's only six feet away from me, hiding behind that boulder. He held out his blade in defense. Yeah, like I could do anything in this case. He removed himself from his hiding spot, and chuckled in success. "Oh, wow... I-I did it! Oh, I did it! This-this fixes everything! Yes! I have brought down this mighty beast!" he said, stomping a foot on me. Ah, so this is the one who had shot me down. Huh...I expected a deeper voice. My lungs couldn't take the pressure, and I twitched my shoulder, revealing that there was still life in me. He reacted with a jolt and staggered back, holding out his blade in defense again. I think it's time I'd take a look at this Viking. Boy, was I disappointed with what I saw. Standing before me-or above me in this case-was a young boy, around the age of fifteen? Sixteen? Whatever the age, he didn't look like a Viking. He was tiny, and dressed in a long, greeen shirt, coated by a furry brown vest, along with a belt at the waist in the same color. Short, wavy, golden brown hair blew in the wind at the top of his head. He was very skinny, as though he hadn't eaten in days. In other words, I could easily break him like a twig. Wow. I've been shot down by a talking toothpick; a small, weak, useless toothpick. Gee, what a lovely way to end my life! Does the gods really hate me THAT much? One day, the most fearsome dragon the world has ever seen, the next, a victim to a talking toothpick. A TALKING TOOTHPICK!! Yup, the gods surely hated my guts alright. The human hovered over me, still holding out his knife. "I'm gonna kill you, dragon." he mutters. Wow...is my name Dragon now? Can't the gods just make up their minds? "I'm gonna-I'm gonna cut out your heart and take it to my father. I'm a Viking. I'M A VIKING!!!" Sheesh, if you don't kill me, you're boisterous talking will. He holds the knife above his head, preparing to strike. This was it, I realized. I was going to die right here, right now. I close my eyes, moaning to prepare myself for impact. I felt my heart pound what would be its final beats. It was like hearing the drums of war. They say your life flashes before your eyes. But apparently, I'm an exception. My life didn't flash before my very eyes. If anything flashed through anything, it was the thought of dying that flashed through my head! Wait a minute! Why am I still thinking? Better yet, why am I still breathing? Was he NOT going to kill me? What the tail was taking so long? "I did this." he muttered, stepping back a few steps. Well duh! You said it yourself! YOU'RE A VIKING!!! Just then, I felt the ropes begin to loosen their grip on me. I snapped my eyes open, my heart thundering in my chest as if it wanted to burst out. There was no questioning it, there was no denying it. He was letting me go. One...two...three, the ropes snapped in two. No sooner than that, I leapt on top of him, ignoring the pain in my side from the splinters. I pinned him there, getting a good look at his eyes. They were green, like mine, only in a slightly darker hue. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he was feeling the same as I was: frightened at the thought of dying, only at such a young age. Now let me make one thing perfectly clear. I do not kill children. I repeat, I do NOT kill children! I will not, nor would I ever. I don't mind taking down one of the bigger Vikings if they attacked, but to kill a child? That's just cruel, no matter human or dragon. Just because I'm deadly, doesn't mean I'm heartless. Most dragons kill whatever they want, though mostly for a sacrifice to the Queen. But me? It just doesn't happen. Instead of shooting a fireball at him, I scream in his face in frustration. 'Shoot me down like that again, and I will kill you!" I threatened, though I'm sure he couldn't understand me. Of course, I didn't really mean it. I just wanted to give the kid a good scare. I turned away from him and flew out of there-wait a minute! Something's wrong with my flight! What the tail is wrong with my flight! I can't even balance myself! BOOM!! OW!! Dumb rock! I can't even dodge those STUPID boulders anymore! What the tail? Oh no, not again! CRASH!!! I crashed landed on a flat surface, letting out a scream of pain and frustration. That crash hurt like hell! But that didn't matter now. Oh great! Now I can't even fly! First, my reputation, then my honor and now THIS? Damnit! What else can go wrong? As if to answer my question, a few drops of rain splashed on my head. Though it was only a few drops, I could sense a storm coming pretty soon. Oh great! Is THIS my punishment for being the last Night Fury? The gods think that Night Furries are old school because we're one of the oldest species of dragons! And now they wanna get rid of them once and for all! I wrapped my tail around myself when I realized I couldn't feel my left tail fin. I checked it, and I realize that my tail fin is MISSING!! Yes, you read right! M.I.S.S.I.N.G!!!!! Oh great! Not only am I currently unable to fly, now I won't be able to fly again! I'm a downed dragon for...the remainder of my life! Without my flight, I'm a dead dragon! I didn't dare ask if things could get any worse, because I knew something else would go wrong if I did. I wish this was all just a nightmare, a horrible, terrifying nightmare. A nightmare where I could just close my eyes and wish this all away. I would start over and try again. I would be right next to my Queen, and stand as her right hand dragon. My head hung low in shame, my eyes closed tightly as if to wish this all away. Of course, it never really worked. If I hadn't wasted my time burning down buildings, I wouldn't have got shot down, nor would I have lost my tail fin. Just thinking on how much this is my fault made my depression worse. I couldn't fight anymore. The feeling of failure and shame hit me like a flood. For once, I have never felt so alone. ------------------------------------- Yeah, you can imagine how he must've felt when he found out that he wouldn't be able to fly again. I mean, I'd feel like that if I was in his place. Enjoy.

Yeah...must've been REALLY bad for him... Great chapter! I really like how you made him not be a "heartless" dragons . And again, I don't really think he's the last night fury...Maybe the last one in that whole area/continent or whatever xD. But if you want it that way, then sure, go ahead ^^ Love it! Can't wait for the next chapter ^^

Thanks toothless11. Glad you like this story so far. And about the being the last Night Fury thing, that's what Toothless thinks. It's what he's been informed. There may actually be one or two more Night Furries out there...Blah! Who knows? I don't own the friggin franchise. XD
------------------------------------
Chapter 3: Curiosity
I was unable to sleep that night; the rain made it almost impossible to do so. I let the rain soak into my skin, never moving from that spot til next morning came. It felt like an eternity til the sun finally rose over the horizon, revealing that I was in a cove. It was membraned by tall piles of rocks at each corner, spring grass filling the area within it. It was warm here, not bad for a prison.
Suddenly, I hear a splash from behind me and a wet sensation scattered against my hide. I turn my head and I was quite shocked to see...
WATER!! No words could describe the relief that washed over me when I spotted a lake. It was huge too! The water filled, like, half the cove! I threw myself into the lake, taking in that refreshing wet sensation the water had to offer. Hey, is that a fish swimming towards me? I stood still, and waited til it was just close enough. Wait for it...wait for it...NOW! Just then, as I was about to strike, a jolt of pain struck my remaining tail fin. It hurt like Hell. You might wanna plug your years.
AHHH!!!! SON OF A TROLL EATER! PEICE OF ROTTEN FISH!! MOTHER BUCKER!! BUCK!!! BUCK!! STUPID!! STUPID!! STUPID!! STUPID PIECE OF ROTTEN FISH!! DAMNIT!! DAMNIT!! DAMNIT!! DAMN, SON OF A TROLL EATER!!!
Whew! Sorry about that. As I was splashing around in the water in pain and frustration, I discovered something. I discovered...I had just got pinched by a crab. Yes, you heard right. A tiny crab just outsmarted a grown Night Fury. Me, a Night Fury! A FRIGGIN NIGHT FURY!!! Also known as THE DEADLIEST DRAGON KNOWN TO THE WORLD!!!! Crap. How did I go from the deadliest dragon to a talking toothpick? It's only been a day! Forgive me if I withhold my enthusiasm.
Just then, I was hit by an invisible force. Not a physical force, but more like an emotional shockwave that hit my brain like a tsunami. The Queen was calling. I had to get out of here.
Once the Queen calls, it's time to go. It doesn't matter if you're in the middle of a raid, or a flying lesson, or just catching a fish. You absolutely, positively HAVE to go. Either flying, on foot, or swimming, you have to be there...at the same time as the other dragons. If not, you're screwed.
So I leapt on a rock, trying to climb out of here since I had no other choice. But the rain from last night made the rock slippery, and I ended up slipping and falling on my tail. Ouch. I tried again, only, this time, to fall on my hide and the rock to fall on top of me. Ouch...again. I push the rock off me, and I continue to push myself out of this cove. I try again and again. But no prevail. Hell, I even try flying, but I only end up crash landing back on the ground.
Hmm, maybe if I get some tasty fish in my belly, I could get the energy to get out of here. Yeah, I can do that. No problem at all. And look, there's even a couple of fish swimming this way already. I sneak up to the lake, despite my size, waiting for them to come near enough and then strike...only to get a mouthful of water. Dang.
A small thump in the distance made me spot something in the corner of my eye. I looked up at one of the little caves I found while here. Whoa! What the tail?
It was that kid again, the talking toothpick that had shot me down. What did he want? To finish the job? To be honest, the very thought sent a few chills down my spine. Ever since I was shot down, the thought of death frightened me. But that didn't mean I wasn't ready. I am not called Night Fury for no reason.
A few seconds pass and he doesn't really do anything. He just sat there and observed me, as I observed him. He tilted his head as if he was curious. I returned the gesture, equally as curious. Something about him...just seemed different from the other Vikings. I'm not sure how to explain it, but his gaze actually knocked me out of the Queen's trance (That's, like, impossible to do). It was as though there was some strange connection between us. It was like he was looking directly into my soul.
It was weird.
It didn't last much longer though. Only a few more seconds pass before he just turns and leaves the cove.
--------------
That night, I couldn't sleep for two reasons. One, the grass was still wet from last night's rain fall. Two, I couldn't stop thinking about the boy.
I struggled to make sense of how he just shot me down and then just let me go like that. Maybe he didn't have time to kill me? No, plunging a knife into my heart would take much less time than cutting heavy ropes. Maybe...he wasn't hungry? Pfft nah! What human would have the stomach to eat a dragon? Especially a talking toothpick like him. There weren't any other dragons around. So what was holding him back? What was the point of shooting me down anyway?
Then I thought, what if humans and dragons aren't as different as we are informed? I mean, think about it! You know how I said I'd never kill a child? What if the tooth-I mean, human is no different? What if he thinks the same way? What if he's not like other Vikings, just like I'm not like other dragons? What if he doesn't kill dragons, just like I don't kill children?
No sooner did I ask myself this, a great ball of blue flames shot across the sky, glowing from behind the clouds. I observed it closely. Huh, it sure was flying lower than meteors normally would. It was bright, though not as bright as the sun. The meteor soon crashed into a mountain in the distance, exploding into a great wave of fire before disappearing into thin air. I smiled to myself, proud of my theory. I laid myself down, curling into fetal position. I closed my eyes for the hours of rest to come...
BOOM!!!
Or the hours of thunder and lightning to come! Ugh, can't we go one night without rain? Seriously! What is up with this island?
BOOM!!!
There it is again! That's it! I'm outta here! Okay, not out of this cove, but out of the spot I was in. Hey, look! There's a cave right over there! Oh finally! I thought to myself. I move from my spot and head towards the homey cave. It was solid hard ground, but it was much better than being out in the rain all night. I lay myself down, slowly drifting into a slumber.
-------------------------------------------
Hehe, poor Toothless. XD

Ya know, toothless11, you're the only one who seems to be interested in this story. It doesn't seem like anyone else is reading it. I try to put this on another site, but no one's interested in it. :/ So thanks, buddy. It really is appreciated.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 4: A Better Understanding
It is a dark and stormy night. The smell of fire and ash fills the air. The city of Berk is once again facing a dragon raid. And I'm the one that started it. The smokey gush of wind blew past my ears as I shoot a fire blast at one of the Viking buildings. BOOM!! Yeah, take that, ya overgrown toothpicks! Ah, nothing like the smell of your own fire in the morning.
I flipped in the air, allowing myself to dive towards another building and shot another fire blast at it. Whoa...de ja vu! Seriously! I feel like I've done this before! Even though I know for a fact that I have never lead a raid, or start one in this case. But then I remembered the Red Queen wanted a human sacrifice and it all came back to me. Huh, I could've swarn I got shot down.
Ah, here we go! A tall woman stepped out of the building, aiming an axe at one of the dragons. She was beautiful, her long, golden brown braids flowed in the wind. She wore a long velvet red robe, along with a long, brown furry cape. She was big, as in tall and muscular. You wouldn't want to mess with her. But, I thought she was perfect, though I'd hate to end the life of a beautiful woman. I probably would have spared her, but time was wasting and I had to get to my queen before the sun arrives.
But first, I had to wait til she was vulnerable.
I crawled down the roof of the house, keeping as quiet as I can. She didn't seem to notice me, so I guess I was doing a good job. She threw her axe at a Monstrous Nightmare, the blade digging deep into his cheek with perfect force. He fell down at her powerful hit, and she lunged at him, letting out a loud battle cry while doing so. She also held up her stronger blade to finish him off.
I let out a loud screetch to at least give her a two second warning before I lunged at her at full speed. She didn't look; she didn't even have the time to. I mounted on her, pinning her to the ground. She gasped, her eyes going wide with fear. "N-n-n..." she couldn't even say the words Night Fury. Her grassy green eyes were filled with fear beyond comprehension. Her shagged breaths made it almost impossible for her to breath naturally. I almost felt bad for her. ALMOST! I felt the fire within my lungs build up, but instead I held back my fire. I was in the mood for raw flesh tonight.
I bit down on her neck, my jaws digging into her flesh, nearly ripping her head off. Blood spilled all over the place, and life quickly left her body. But as I was about to finish her flesh, I spotted an infant. His eyes were filled with fear, just as the woman below me had fear in her eyes. He was crying, boisterious tears flooding down his eyes. He looked like he was about to scream...
--------------------
Ohhh, my head! Aww man, did I really dream that? Well that came out of nowhere. I don't remember ever a time when I would just dive and kill a human, unless of course, my Queen commanded it. But usually, I would just grab the human by the shoulders with my talons and drown them, or just drop them into the Queen's mouth. I wouldn't really kill a human head on unless it was necessary. Like if a human was attacking me, I'd do it to defend myself. Or if my Queen commanded it. But otherwise, I see no reason to do so.
Anyways, I found myself laying on my back, all four my legs sticking in the air. I sigh, and roll onto my belly so I could get up. I stretched the limbs, letting out a sleepy yawn. Hey, is that a deer?
I stay silent as I watch the mammel closely. I duck down in the trees, getting behind a shaded boulder. I sneak onto the igneous rock formation before the deer could see me. I duck real low to make sure the mammel couldn't see me. I wated for the right moment to strike. Come on...just a little closer...almost there-OH COME ON! The deer just ran away! I repeat, THE. DEER. JUST. RAN. AWAY!! How could he notice me already? Aww man! Am I really that bad of a hunter since I lost my tailfin? Eeyup, I'm gonna die here alright. Wait a minute...
A fish just landed on the grassy ground. Why? I don't know. Is this a trap? That too, I didn't know. Where did it come from? I think I have an idea. What the tail? Fish don't just magically appear out of nowhere, nor can they make a leap that far, especially when they're dead. Just as suspected, here comes the talking toothpick.
What was he here for? I don't know. Is he here to set me into a trap? Is he here to befriend me? Is he here to take me in as his "pet"? Is he here to finish me off? Why didn't he do so when he had the chance back in the woods? All these questions ran through my mind like a tsunami of mysteries waiting to be solved.
Then another thought hit me: my theory. What if humans and dragons aren't as different as we think? That was just another mystery. But today was the day to solve that mystery.
I growled to announce my presence. He jolted in fright, staring nervously at me. I climbed down the rock to stand in front of him. 'Okay, here I am.' I thought, angling myself towards him. He was scared, I could sense it. Good. That reduces the chances of dying by the hands of this scrawny human.
He held out his fish nervously, and I realized it was for me. He was...feeding me? Why? Why on earth would a human such as himself feed a demon like me? To be honest, I didn't really care at that time. I was hungry, I haven't eaten in days. A small fish was better than nothing.
I carefully approach the boy and opened my mouth to consume the fish...wait a minute! I smell metal. He has a blade with him. Damnit! How could I be so stupid? I crouched low, getting into a fighting stance. I growled as well to let him know that there was no way I would trust him with that blade on him.
He removed his vest, revealing the metal. Yup, just as suspected. He has a blade with him. 'You'd better get rid of that,' I growled, getting ready to pounce just in case.
He took the blade, holding it out for a second before dropping it to the ground. 'That's it. Now throw it in the lake or something.' He took the blade in his foot, and tossed it into the lake. I sat back up to let him know that I trusted him. He held out his fish, and I approached him slowly. I opened my mouth, keeping my teeth inside my gums to let him know that I meant no harm.
"Huh, toothless." he said, looking at my gums. "I could've swarn you had-" he was cut off when I retracted my teeth and took the fish. I dipped my head to consume the fish. I could tell by the salty taste that the fish was about a week or less old. But hey, I like salty stuff. "...teeth," he finished, blinking in shock. I almost laughed at that. The look on his face was priceless.
He was hungry, I could sense it. And I realized just how big of a deal this was not only to me, but to him as well. He had just sacrificed his only fish to me. His ONLY fish, I emphasized. He didn't have anymore. If he did, I would've smelled it. He could've just stood there and ate it in front of me while my stomach grumbled desperately for food, but he didn't. He gave it to me. Why would a human do that for a dragon such as myself? That, I do not know. But I do know that it was probably the nicest thing anyone's done for me since...ever.
I've been abandoned by my own folks, from what the Queen told me. I've been picked on, singled out, enslaved and beaten to the bone. Even though my life seemed perfect before I was shot down, it wasn't. The Queen enslaved me right when she found me as a hatchling, along with the other adult dragons. She is the about the only creature besides eels that I fear most. But there's one difference between her and the eels. I could avoid the eels. But I couldn't avoid her.
Most hatchlings don't have to do anything to earn their parent's love. I did. I had to fight to earn her love. I had to get beaten by bigger and more powerful dragons to earn her love. I had to suffer pain to earn her love. I had to impress her to earn her love. So you can see why this was a big deal for me.
So I crawled towards him, causing him to jump back. "No, no, no!" he exclaimed in a panicky voice. (Ugh, humans and their stupid fears!) He was crawling back towards a grassy rock til I had him merely pinned. "I don't have anymore!"
'Congradulations, Caption Obvious, you just guessed the correct reason why I'm doing this!' I glared at him, before feeling one half of the fish make its way out of my stomach and back into my mouth, spitting it onto the boy's lap.
"Ugh," he boy muttered, looking a little disgusted. I sat up in a bipedal way, proud of myself for doing the right thing. I stayed with him to make sure he eats it properly so the bones don't get stuck in his throat. I waited for him to consume the fish.
Waiting...waiting...waiting... 'Uh dude, are you gonna eat that?' Seriously! It was like he didn't know what to do with the damn thing! Did he not trust me? That would be understandable if he didn't JUST see me eat the damn thing! It's not like my saliva is poisonous! Are humans really that stupid?
It only took a small nod of the head for him to FINALLY get the idea. He takes a bite out of the fish and chews, though very uncomfortably. Hey, that fish may not be the best tasting, but it should be enough to keep him nurtured. Plus, with the extra nutrients, it's a lot healthier than cooked meat.
Now he's looking at me awkwardly again. I swallowed, gestering him to do the same. He hesitated, and gave me a look that clearly said, "Are you serious?" But he did it, though rather reluctantly. I stuck my toungue out at him to let him know that I was satisfied.
He grinned like an idiot. I'm serious! Right after he swallowed that thing, he gave me a dopey grin. It was just so hilarious, and even cute, I gotta admit. I had to mimmick him. I just had to. That grin, oh gods almighty! I felt my lips quiver until a gummy smile appeared on my face.
His smile seemed to grow wider, and so did mine. It was a smiling contest between us until...okay what's he doing? He gets up onto his bipedal way of walking, and reaches his hand towards me, showing me the palm. What the tail? Why is his hand getting closer? WHOA!! No touchy! I growl, and immediately glide to the other side of the pond to get away from him.
I breath fire into the grass, creating a burnt circle around myself for protection against pests. It was like a fire bed, made from a dragon's flames. I curled myself in fetal position, giving the small boy a smirk as in 'Ha ha! Can't touch me now, can ya?' before laying my heaad down. What the tail?
Something above me caught my eye, causing me to lift my head. Before my eyes was an angelic white bird flying out of its nest. A small portion of despair hit me. That bird reminded me so much of flying. I wished I was that bird. It may not have been fierce like a dragon, but flying was my life. A life that was taken away from me so suddenly, I reminded myself. What the! How did he get here so fast?
Seriously! He was sitting there right in front of me, no more than five feet away! What? Did he magically teleport or something? He waved at me nervously as if to simply say "Hi." I shrugged it off, rolling my eyes as I lay back down, wrapping my tail around myself to give me privacy.
But apparently, this kid doesn't know when to stop. I could easily sense him getting closer to me...a little too close. I lift my tail to catch of short glimpse of him reaching out to me...then he just walks away from me as if nothing happened. Pfft, kids.
I get up and stroll in the opposite direction as well to find the nearest, most stable tree to loiter from. Ahh here's one. A tall evergreen tree rose high above me, shading me in its star-shaped leaves. I leap on what looks like the most stable branch, wrapping my tail around it. I let gravity take over my body as I half back flipped off the tree, my tail being the only thing keeping me up.
So now, I looked more like a bat hanging upside down. Of course, with the blood rushing to my head, it wasn't the most comfortable position to sleep in, but Night Furries (though I'm the only one) have a solution for everything. I cacooned myself in my giant pitch black wings, creating a warm, protective covering for myself. Despite the unusual position, I fell asleep in minutes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Awww! Let the bonding begin! And also, for being such a good reader, I'm awarding you with an extra chapter. Here it is!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter Five: Trust
Oh...my head! I knew I shouldn't have slept up here! Bad idea. By now, the sun was setting on the horizon. Rays of sunlight shone through the shadows, making the atmosphere hotter. I flipped myself off the tree branch, only to land on my rump with a loud thud. Ouch.
Hey, the boy is still here. Huh, I wonder what he's been up to this whole time. So I approach him silently, observing as he...seemed to be etching something in the gravel. One large neck, V-shaped chin, and two large eyes. Hey, is that me he's drawing?
Yes it was.
Hey, I look gorgeous.
Maybe I should try that. No harm in trying after all. I searched for the skinniest, but strongest tree I could find. Ah, here we go. A small, thin tree caught my attention. Gripping it with my pearly white teeth, I took the tree, breaking it off its roots. I too started etching in the ground, catching his attention. Twisting and twirling, I did the best I could to etch the boy into the gravel. Looking back at him once in a while, I etched an eye in there.
I surrounded him again, and I think I accidentally hit him on the head while I turned. Ooops, sorry about that! I dropped to the tree, deciding that I was finished. I was satisfied at my work. It's not the best, but it'll do. Offense took over me as the boy accidentally stepped on my drawing. I growled at him, to let him know his mistake. I know it was an accident, he didn't mean to do it. So I'll just let it slide for now.
By "for now" I meant the next few seconds. He stepped on my artwork...again! And this time it was ON PURPOSE!! I growl at him as in, "Dude, get your stinking feet off my artwork!" (No seriously, his feet stinks. My strong sense of smell could detect it from like a mile away!) He did, but only to step on it again. 'Dude! What is your problem! Lighten up!' I growl again. I know I'm not the best artist, but I didn't step on his artwork! Why is he stepping in mine? The nerve!
He lifts his foot. Good, now step over the-OH COME ON!!! HE STEPS ON MY ARTWORK AGAIN!!! 'Step on the artwork again! I dare ya! Just step on the damn thing one more buckin time and see what happens, mother bucker!' I growl, getting into pouncing position. He smirks at me, like he's gonna do it again. If he does, well, let's just say he won't live to see another day.
To my surprise though, the boy FINALLY learns his lesson and steps over my artwork. He never made that mistake again. Oh yeah, NOW you get it, dumbass! I observe as he continues to step over the lines as if they were made of molten rock. Step by step, twisting and twirling, he dances along the lines as if it were the human version of flying. Closer and closer, he dances towards me, still watching his steps. So close, I could touch him.
He flinches, and then turns to look at me. In that small moment, we looked into eachother's green eyes. I have no idea what he saw, but I could've swarn I've seen a younger version of me in those grassy green eyes. It's like I was looking into my own past. I looked into his eyes, and I saw a younger version of myself, back in the old days when I had to earn my Queen's love. Oh how I was so young, so full of life. So ambitious, so adventurous, so careless. I was ready for anything! Why I was thinking like such an ancient dragon was way beyond me (I'm only seventy! Trust me, that's still young!), but my artwork no longer mattered. All that mattered was the here and now as I suddenly captured by the trance he held.
He suddenly reached his arm out, obviously trying to touch me. 'I wouldn't do that if I were you,' I growl at him slightly, turning my head away, but I couldn't manage to take my eyes off him. It was like our eyes were in some sort of lock. I gave him a playful smirk.
He stepped back, but then he let out a deep breath and fully reached his hand towards me. 'He trusts me, I realize, turning my head towards him, widening my eyes. No one would EVER trust a dragon. Ever! It was a sin to both human and dragon kind! Especially to a Night Fury, the most feared of dragons! I could have bitten his arm right off, I had the right teeth for it. But a dragon would never betray one's trust.
Hesitating, I reluctantly extend my head forward so his hand was touching my snout. Just then, an emotional shockwave had hit me again. It wasn't from the Queen, but from...something I can't explain. It was something I've never felt before, and yet it felt so familiar...and it made me a little tingly inside. I guess the best way to explain it is:
It was like being hit by an unknown force, only it didn't hurt me, neither physically nor emotionally. Instead, it made my heart flutter inside.
I parted from the hand, and the emotional shockwave vanished like an apparition in thin air. Well...that went...well. Whatever that was, it's gone now. I just shake my head at him, snorting before I decide to retire for the night. I stroll away from him to get more rest. I am nocturnal you know, and I need to go back to my sleeping habits before I suffer insomnia.
Suddenly getting the feeling of being alone, I turn my head to look for the boy. I was actually disappointed to find that he had left. A small part of me wanted him to stay. I curl myself up, shifting into a comfortable position and close my eyes.
"And by the way."
BAH!! Holy seahorses! I almost jumped at that! (Key word: almost. I don't get scared that easily. Ha!) I lift my head to find that the kid has once again snuck up to my side. This kid really knows how to be sneaky, doesn't he? "I'm Hiccup," he told me, pointing at his chest.
What? He's got the hiccups? It sure doesn't sound like it. I tilted my head at him, not sure if I understood him correctly.
"My name is Hiccup." he repeated, before he took off, heading towards his only exit out of the cove. Hiccup? His name is Hiccup? Who the tail names their son Hiccup?
I watched as the boy shot me a small, friendly smile towards me before disappearing into the cave. I'll admit it, I was amazed at his trust in me. He even gave me his name. He TRUSTED me with his name. Hell, I didn't even know humans had names!
I found myself grinning towards Hiccup's direction, as that feeling began to wash over me again. For some reason, I felt like I could jump and touch the skies, even though I couldn't really fly. I have no idea why, or how for that matter. But I did know that I was content for the first time since I was shot down. I laid my head down once again, drifting off into a peaceful slumber.

Ok several message and stuff, so I'm just gonna eerily to each quote xD "Ya know, toothless11, you're the only one who seems to be interested in this story. It doesn't seem like anyone else is reading it. I try to put this on another site, but no one's interested in it. :/ So thanks, buddy. It really is appreciated." Really? Hmm...sucks that no one else has read it. Have you tried deviantArt or fanfiction? I recommend it to another member from here, but he only logs on like once a day only for a few minutes. So he doesn't have time. Yeah, I too wanna make fanfics of my two OCs (a Viking and a baby night fury ). I've actually made like 2, but didn't get anyone to read them as well . Only like one person...And I'm working on a third which I currently have major block on . And I'm planning on a fourth which takes place sometime when my OCs are older...but yeah . I also really like fanfics that are in Toothless' perspective. Especially yours. Small chapters but really enjoyable. You're welcome xD. And lol, am I really you're buddy? Chapter 4 comments: Well not many comments other than that I enjoyed it . I wonder who was the crying kid when Toothless killed the woman... . And lol, I would've greatly accepted to take care of Toothless since he was a hatchling! xD "Awww! Let the bonding begin! And also, for being such a good reader, I'm awarding you with an extra chapter. Here it is! " Lol I was like "Wha-Another chapter?!?!? Nice!" xD Thanks xD. Chapter 5 comments: Not many things I can think of...but I love it xD. Lol, Toothless is SEVENTY? I know that dragons are known to live many more years than humans and all. But I've never been comfortable when I read in fanfics or whatever that the most cutest dragon ever that is 'young' is actually REALLY really old . I myself am trying to calculate the age and stuff of a night fury. Kind of invent it:p. Might be useful for my OC...I mean despite her being almost 2 years old (cuz she was made in December 2012 ), she's still the same age and size and all while my viking OC is growing . I kinda think that maybe they grow like humans...kind of . Like when they're twenty years old in their own age they would be like 15 or something...Just to not make it that by the time my Viking OC can fly on her, he's gonna be an old man . Ok so going back to the chapter...very cute xD. I love the way you express Toothless' feelings . Also like the small part you added at the end And to the small thing at the end of the post... FRIENDSHIP love . Or something like that. Not any other types of love xD *End of big post *

LOL I can see it now. Once Hiccup finds out his age, he'll tease him about it...constantly. Until Toothless gets annoyed and throws him into a lake. XD
Me: Whoa! You're seventy? No wonder you're starting to think like an ancient dragon!
Toothless: Shut up, you! *blows fire at the ground in my way*
Me: Wahh! *dodges fire and laughs*

Aww man! Somehow I keep forgetting to update this dang thing, now don't I? XD Well here's chappie six if you're still interested.
----------------------------------------------
Chapter Six: First Flight
I was awakened by the snap of a twig. My head shot up and pricked my ears to listen closely. It sounded alot like footsteps, lots of them. The boy better not have brought the other Vikings with him because if he did, I'd rip his heart out and feed it to his friends.
Yes, I know I said I'd never kill a child, but what else could I do? I can't fly away, just in case you've forgotten. I know how Vikings are. They'll kill the first dragon they see! I'll have to do SOMETHING to survive.
But to at least give them a chance to save themselves of my wrath, the first thing I needed to do was hide. If they find me, then I'll put my foot down. So I hid behind a boulder and kept low, watching, waiting for a Viking mob to come.
A Viking mob that never came.
The only Viking that actually showed up was the human-er Hiccup. He was carrying a large basket and what looked like a strange metal log. I was relieved of course, but I did wonder if something was wrong with my ears. Have I grown half deaf when I was shot down? Because usually my hearing is pinkie keen. I wouldn't have heard extra footsteps like I did just now. But then again, I just woke up. It could have just been some sort of sleep factor. I stepped out of my hiding place to face him.
"Hey Toothless," he sang, setting the basket down, stomping his foot on it to hold it in place. Wait a minute! Toothless?
OH HELL NAW!!!
No, no and NO! Abso-bucking-lutely not! That's the stupidest, idiotic, unpleasant, vile, pathetic, melancholic, RETARDED name I've heard in my life! I'm not toothless! I just have retractable teeth for Thor's sake! Why must humans come up with the dumbest names! It's like they're made from their own waste! I will never forgive that human for this!
"I brought breakfast!" he said, kicking the basket down to reveal...FISH!!! And lots of it! Why hello, best breakfast ever! Okay, he's forgiven. Perhaps I can TRY to tolerate the name Toothless.
I approached the basket, sniffing my meal fit for a king. "Let's see, we have some salmon," he continued.
Oh boy!
"Icelandic cod..."
Why hello, best fish ever! Come to papa!
"And a whole smoked eel."
Eh whaa?
No. Hell no! Are you stupid, human? Doesn't he know how deadly one of those can be to dragons? Just one of those suckers can kill a Monstrous Nightmare in minutes with one bite! Thank the gods their scent can't do anything, or I'd be as dead as dust by now!
How in the tail did I manage to miss that?
I gritted my teeth at the thing, stepping back a little. He picked it up, and I scowled as in "Get that damn thing out of my face!" Like usual, he seemed to understand perfectly (Thank the gods for that).
"No no no no! It's okay!" he threw the eel in the lake to prove his point. "Yeah, I don't like eels much either."
Then why'd you bring them with you? Strange custom you humans have. I shrugged it off, hoping that an incident like that won't happen again. I sniffed the fish again, enjoying their sweet smell. Oh come to papa, my sweet fishies! I consumed the first fish. Ahhh, cod sweet cod. It was salty, crunchy and yet juicy, just like a cod should be. These fishes were newer than the one Hiccup had gave to me yesterday, much tastier too. Hiccup murmmured something, but I wasn't paying attention. Damn, these fish are so good!
Just then, I felt something click on my tail, and I had just finished licking the insides of the basket. My head rose up, dropping the basket in doing so. An extra weight was added to my tail. An extra weight that made it seem like my missing tail fin had suddenly grew back. I wiggled my tail fin, testing it only to gasp and drop my wings in shock. My tail fin had magically appeared on my tail! I don't know how, nor did I care. All that matter was that...I could fly again.
I spreaded my wings to feel that oh so sweet, familiar gush of wind blow past them. I sniffed the air, enjoying it as it blew past my ears and plates. The sky was calling me. I knew it. The sky was calling me, and I was coming. You'd better hold on, Hiccup. We're in for a windy ride! I crouched low and...
BLAST OFF!!!
I shot myself into the air, causing Hiccup's body to curl around my tail, gripping on it for dear life as he screamed. Well Hiccup, don't say I didn't warn you. While he was doing that, I just enjoyed the sweet sensation of the wind that I missed so dearly! And...I was even escaping the cliffs that had kept me imprisoned here! Come on, Toothless! Almost there!
Just then, I feel weight lift off my tail and it caused me to lose alititude. Oh no! I'm falling! I was flying, and now I was falling right out of the sky! And at a great height too! No, I was not gonna let gravity suck me in again! Not again. I thrust my wings to try and regain altitude, but no prevail. Come on, you stupid wings! Work! Oh this is gonna hurt!
Just then, the extra tail weight returned, and I found myself regaining altitude. Oh finally! I was free again! Oh, I never thought I'd live to see the day! I thought I was gonna be stuck on the ground for life! I kept my eyes at the sky, as she welcomed me with her brilliant clouds. Oh yes! Sweet freedom.
No words could describe this feeling. It was as though I was taken to a different demension made just for me. All the flying, fishing, hunting and destroying Viking property I wanted. There would be no Queen to control me, and I could eat as much as I wanted. I would need no one to do whatever I pleased without a single care in the world. I would be the top dragon of all time, like a boss.
Just then, I felt myself lean into an acute angle, allowing more wind to pass through my wings. I didn't intend it, but I didn't care. I was flying! That was all that mattered at the time! I could finally escape this cove, go find that human sacrifice and return to my Queen. I wouldn't care if she started neglecting me again. I'd just be happy to be home at last!
But first I had to get this boy off my tail because he is starting to get heavy. It's not that I couldn't handle it, I could handle anything. It's just that he was clutching to the weaker part of my tail. I couldn't knock him off up here, that would kill him. So I flew to a suitable height from the lake.
"Yes! Yes! I've done it!" he exclaimed happily. I lowered my head to check on the boy, making sure he was still clutching to my tail. Then I whipped my tail, causing his hold on my tail to break and he himself fell into the water. Finally! Now I can soar back to the skies from where I once came!
...Or not. I was only able to soar for another three seconds before I, too fell into the water, with a tsunami like splash. Ouch.
"Yeah!" he shouted, throwing his arms into the air, regardless of the fact that he was now soaken wet. "I did it! Yes!"
'Did what?' I wondered, curling my tail to find a metal object that closely resembled my lost tail. Well that explains alot.
----------------------------------------------------------
Later, probably about a few minutes later, we were out of the water. Hiccup was jumping, dancing around like an idiot. "Woo hoo!! This is so cool!! Toothless, do you know what this means?" he kept shouting, clutching onto my plates (There goes that feeling again) before jumping around like an idiot again. Of course, I couldn't really blame him. I'd be pretty excited too, if I was in his place. Don't get me wrong, I was excited myself that I would be able to fly again, but Night Furies are dignified creatures. They do not...woo hoo. On top of that, flying would never be the same again.
He was like that for about...I'd say up to a maximum of twenty minutes. He just wouldn't calm down! Seriously! He even accidentally stepped on my tail while thoughtlessly dancing around. He stopped eventually, taking a breather. Now he's batting a couple of rocks together, creating a melange of thumps and whizzes. Why? Was it to somehow dry him off?(Apparently humans took forever to dry off.) Was it entertainment for humans? Was it to excersize the hand joints? I have no idea.
"Ugh! Stupid rocks! Ignite already!" he muttered in frustration, loud enough for me to hear.
Oh he wants a fire? Why didn't he just say so? I spat a fire blast towards the area next to him, creating a small camp fire. That caused him to jump back in surprise. He froze; his jaw dropped, and his eyes went as wide as leaves. It was as though he's never seen a fire before in his life. It was amusing, I just had to joke about it.
'What's the matter, caveboy? Never seen a fire before?' I teased, although it sounded more like grumbles and growls to the human.
But that did seem to get his attention, with that shocked expression of his that made me laugh. I returned the gesture with a dragon smirk. He laughed nervously, sounding more like "Hehe's" than "Haha's". "Oh...wow! Thanks buddy," he spoke, sending me a small smile now. I returned the gesture with a dragon smirk.
He curled into a ball in front of the fire, waving his hands in front of it. 'Interesting concept,' I thought to myself as I studied him. Was he doing that to dry off? Or was it some sort of entertainment? Was it to control the fire? Can humans really control fire? So many unanswered questions ran through my head that I really hoped to discover later on.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when I suddenly felt a cringe of...sadness? The boy was...sad? What for? He just became the first human to ride a dragon for Thor's sake! Let alone, the first human to fly. I sneak up behind him, laying down to get a better feel. 'Are you okay?' I asked, though I knew perferctly well that he would not understand me.
He seemed to just fine though, to my great surprise. He did answer my question. "Yeah, I'm fine, buddy. Just a little tired is all." He muttered, letting loose a rather fake yawn.
'I hate to burst your buble, kid, but I wasn't born yesterday. Start spilling.' I refused to give up, so I nudged him to let him know I wasn't falling for his lies.
That leads me to another thing. A dragon can sense a human's emotions. If a human was sad, happy or angry, we'd sense it. Why? I don't know. It's just a part of our "sixth sense" we've evolved in the past six million years we've been on this old planet.
He seemed to understand me just fine (He's getting really good at that, isn't he?) and he started talking. "Eh, I just really don't want to go to Dragon Training tomorrow."
'Dragon Training?' I tilted my head, confused.
"No body wants me there. Heck, no one in my village wants me there! It's like I'm Berk's greatest burden! I mean, yeah they take care of me, feed me and such. But none of them are really nice to me."
'I know how you feel, Hiccup. Being singled out just isn't the best feeling in the world.'
"I just wish they would accept me for who I am, ya know? Just because I don't kill dragons, just because it's not my thing."
'Ah ha! My theory was correct!'
"Especially my dad, Stoick the Vast. He's...well, let's just say he's not the best person to talk to about your problems. He even said it himself! I am not a dragon killer! And yet, he chose to put me in training!"
'Now I'm starting to get what Dragon Training is.'
"Granted, I have always wanted to kill a dragon. But that was long before I met you, Toothless," he continued. "I didn't even know dragons could be gentle creatures back then. It was just the way of the Vikings. Either kill a dragon, or get abandoned by your own people."
'That really sucks. I'm sorry, Hiccup. I didn't know.' I croon, nuzzling him affectionately.
"To give the man credit, he is the leader of the village and he has to take care of it. But sometimes, I wish he could just listen to me once in a while. Heck, why can't anybody listen to me?"
'They don't even listen to his problems? Wow, what a bunch of trollheads.' I thought to myself as I suddenly felt a small cringe of anger flow through my blood. How could everyone ignore this brilliant kid? Especially his own father! Once I get my claws on them...Oh my gods, why am I starting to feel protective over this kid?
"It's just really frustrating. Kids bully me, call me names, and even give me a punch here and there. There's all these people to talk to, but none of them listen." He then turned to me, giving me a small smile. "You know, you're the very first to listen to me. I couldn't thank you enough for that."
'Of course, Hiccup. Of course.'
He leaned against my side.
Ugh, what is wrong with me? I asked myself. Why am I letting this insignificant human being, this scrawny young boy, this weak, toothpick figure touch me? I should be growling at him, telling him to "Go away!" I should be trying to get to my Queen right now!
But I wasn't.
I was being there for this insignificant human being that strangely has a lot in common with me. I was listening to his problems, becoming the first being to ever do so. I was comforting him with my soothing croons. I don't know why, nor how, but I do know that the more I thought about it, the more I became attatched to him.
I have no idea how to explain it, but I think this boy has something more powerful than the Queen herself. It's like he could take her down in an instant while the rest of us dragons wouldn't stand a single chance against her. What is that thing? Is it a feeling? Is it a source? Does it just run in his family? I don't know. All I know is that Hiccup came to be the only being I feel comfortable with.
With that thought in mind, I laid my head down on his lap, relaxing myself. I found myself purring, as he was running his hand along my ears and plates. If I didn't know any better, I think I have finally found someone to call my friend. And you know what?
It felt right.
------------------------------------------
Awww!! They're friends now! And this is friendship love. Not romantic or anything like that. *shudders*
