www.awn.com/news/business/dragon-disappointment-drops-dreamworks-stockWith HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON underperforming compared to DreamWorks Animation’s last feature MONSTERS VS. ALIENS, the company’s stock fell 8% on Tuesday, March 30th, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Despite marking a record box office for an animated film on IMAX, DRAGON earned only $43.7 million compared to MONSTERS’ $59.3 million. Shares are now trading at $39.34. MONSTERS made $382 million globally, which wasn’t enough for DreamWorks to feel comfortable greenlighting a sequel. Some are blaming the poor numbers on the lack of 3-D screens available. ~~~ I find it amusing that whenever I like a movie, it does bad financially... I think I should pretend to hate films, and maybe they'll do better. XD

*pat* Tis expected with the economy. And the opening time is not exactly the best, as well as marketing this as a comedy instead of a drama. I have a feeling more fans will be teenagers than anything else.
But there is good news. It's already the #3 grossing Dragon Movie behind Braveheart and Eragon, and since Eragon only made 75 Mill, it'll pass that rather quickly. In addition, it has made about 50 Mill domestically over three or four days and 90 Mill worldwide since the releases elsewhere. Not bad.
Once everything with school and other things slow down, more people will go and see it, raising the amount it pulls in.
TLDR- Doing pretty good given the crappy economy.
