I finally bought it! I had to smooch some money off of my sister, but it'll be worth paying her back. This game is incredible, and I see why it was called a combination of Spores and Pokemon. My favorite bits of the game is being able to customize your dragon and the battle system. And I love how it has funny bits just like in the movie(I'm still giggling over how Hiccup said "rainbows and flowers" instead of "glory or death").

Just beat it! It felt a bit short story wise, but there is a lot of freeplay left after.
I HAVE A GRAPPLE GROUNDER. THEY KICK ASS.

I've just gotten up to the Gronckle trainer bit...but I WANTS A GRAPPLE GROUNDER SO BAD. So far, I think my fave dragon to play as is the Nadder. Whiptail + Tail Slash + Dart Storm = instant pwnage. Seriously, I just breezed through the second chapter of the game using that combo (and some Regeneration on the side when fighting a Gronckle with shielding abilities). xD But I miss the cutscenes with voices. I went all through the Zippleback chapter without Jay Baruchel's voice, and I really miss it. xD

Don't worry, the voices come back sooner than you think. The final chapter has a TON of voice acting to make up for it.

That's good. There is one thing I don't like about the game, and that's how willing everyone is to replace their dragons. I mean, the whole thing about the movie was that Hiccup and Toothless have this unbreakable bond...but now dragons are just, like, toys for the Viking teens. That and the fact that Hiccup has both of his legs. I tell myself he just squeezed his boot over his leg, that makes me feel a little better...but dammit it, I like looking at his metal leg!

Lol, I know that feeling. I am a big fan of consistency. Like, I always get pissed when they change the actors for things, if that actor is still available. (Meaning if they die than they're excused really, I know it's tight of me but I just don't like it!)
Which dragons do you guys like? So far, the only ones I like are the Night Fury (you'd think the default Night Fury would actually be Toothless, and not just a Night Fury) and the Deadly Nadder. Ok, I only have 4 but I just don't really like the Zippleback or the Gronckle.
As for the voice acting, LOL, there's this one bit where Hiccup sounds like a dork... "Thank Valhalla I found you!" ..I lol'ed.

XD Hiccup sounds like a dork ALL the time! But some of his lines are just epic LULZ.
.... "Flowers and rainbows! Uh... I mean... GLORY OR DEATH!"

I loved his voice-acting in the "Astrid, did you drown?!" scene. Astrid's VA sucked, but Hiccup was DEAD-ON.
...I hate the twins' Zippleback. I'm up to the fifth tournament, and I absolutely CAN NOT beat it! Gonna try switching to one of my other dragons for it today, if that doesn't work I shall scream.
And I've been wondering...where the hell IS Toothless, anyway?!

I think they don't have his metal foot in the game because the game came out before the movie. I think they were just trying to avoid spoiling it for us all. That is if I'm correct 'bout the game coming out first, haha.

Okay, so... figured out that you can completely diable the zippleback by using the night fury's 'crunch' attack and hoping to God the zippleback doesn't dodge it.
Now the nadder keeps screwing me over.
I dun think I like this game anymore. -_- xD

I had problems with one particular fight (I think it's the same one you have trouble with). I suggest using Heat Up and an attack that does extra damage or "consumes" burn, or using an attack that applies auto crit flame, then your most powerful flame attack.

No idea how, but I totally just beat the game! I didn't read your message until just now, Bane, but thanks for the pointers. ^^ I think I beat the Nadder by using Fire Orb, Quick Recover, Close Range, ansd a lot of healing berries...but I'm not sure. *is playing Astrid's story now* Wait...Astrid is denying being Hiccup girlfriend? wtf? xD

I'm not through the whole game just yet, but oh man do I love it so. I'm playing through Hiccup's story. The whole thing with him rescuing Astrid... heeeeeee. I seriously want to fic something like that.
It's a fun little game. Campy at points, and very silly, but quite fun.

Campy is good! If done right. And it was done right.
Him saving Astrid was one of the BEST parts. It actually felt like you were supposed to rush through it.
