After seeing the Flightmare episode, I started to wonder if Dragons are omnivores.
We've seen Terrible Terrors eat bread which is a plant based food. Toothless is also partial to biscuits, another plant sourced food item. And he eats algae in the Flightmare episode, as do Stormfly and Meatlug. Scauldrons are very fond of blue oleandar, a flower.
Which got me wondering, are dragons omnivores in this franchise? To readily eat plant material in addition to fish would strongly suggest this.
The only analogues I know in real life are bears and rats, who have a fish/seafood diet, but also consume plant matter when they are able to obtain it.

Chicken is still meat.
Another thought, they consume Dragon Nip readily, which is also a plant.

They eat meat, insects, and plants. I base the insects off one of the games for httyd that shows that feature. Omnivores and insectavores.

Note here that herbivores will sometimes eat meat, and carnivores will eat plants. Cats and dogs often eat some types of grass when ill, and my late grandfather would often feed his dog with a combination of meat and pasta. Another dog I used to be friends with was absolutely crazy for cheese sandwiches... could never have enough. That being said, I do agree that dragons are likely omnivores, as they seem to eat plant-based food all the time. Particularly Gronckles, as Mildew and his cabbage can readily attest.
