I would guess that something that can swallow a Gronkle whole with minimal effort would have an amazingly high level of pain tolerance and quite a strong set of tissues, etc. Maybe not fireproof, but still incredibly strong. That would render Stormfly's effort useless.

I think that she didn't do because she wanted Hiccup and Toothless to do it...that sounded way better in my head...

There's a great deal of difference between swallowing a rounded object whole and getting a lot of sharp venomous spines in a soft part of the body. The uvula is a weak point in the physiology of any creature, no matter how tough it is on the outside. The same is true of the back of the throat, which is likewise composed of soft tissue. So, naturally, having Deadly Nadder spines impact those areas at high velocity would not be a pleasant experience. |
