Yes, I am a hardcore gamer girl. I've already commented on a few video games on here and ranted about Killzone for a bit. I'm for both XBOX and PS3. But somthing that I realize that I absolutely must rant about is the PS3-exclusive game: MAG. It's a first-person shooter game about three Private Military Contractor/Companies, which all fight against eachother in a "Shadow War" across the globe for satelite uplinks, war supplies, money and status. I play this game when I can, because the combat is extremely heated, with matches of up to 256 players in one game fighting against eachother. The soundtrack is simply bada**, and the customization is pretty awesome too.
My team is Raven, a European PMC based out of South America and Mexico. They're a high-end, technological-based company, that recruits only from the high, rich members of society. Their training is all digital simulators. Their weapons aren't the strongest, but they're the most technologically advanced, and are usually headshot weapons, where every shot is meant to count. Raven's standard outfit includes black kevlar armor, half-head helmets or full-head helmets, and variating heaviness/thickness of the armor depending on the trooper's speciality. Raven is a well-rounded company, half based on defense and half based on attack, not really specialized in either solely. Raven is a proud, hard-nosed company, basing everything off of turning a profit and keeping the shareholders happy and rich. Blue Team.
S.V.E.R. is the opposite of Raven. They're an army without a nation, they're the people who've been forgotten. Based in Europe and the Middle East, they're a brotherhood of forgotten soldiers who've lost everything, or fear to. This team is very heavily defense oriented, with strong ballistic armor that's very makeshift, and heavy weapons, they've learned to turn their defensive capabilities into overwhelming geurilla tactic offensive capabilities. S.V.E.R. wears heavy ballistic clothing under or over hoodies and cargo pants, and usually wear hockey masks or face paint. They're a surprisingly friendly team that believes strongly in the brotherhood formed in combat, and take any soldier from any country with open arms. Orange Team.
Finally, Valor, is the worst team in my opinion. They're the outcast members of the American military, and are based out of Alaska. They're ex-military and law enforcement, who have either been discharged because of some mistake they made, or who have retired from injuries. Composed mostly of marines and infantry, they don't take anyone who wasn't part of the American armed forces, and are very tough on their members. This team focuses mostly on attack, with weapons that are meant for closing the distance between them and a target, then firing away. They wear modified American military battle dress uniform and kevlar, with simple military helmets and caps. Valor is the weakest of the three PMCs due to its lack of members. Green Team.
As much as fighting against S.V.E.R. is annoying, due to their geurilla tactics, it poses a very interesting challenge, and is always fun. Raven beats S.V.E.R. about half the time, and beats Valor three quarters of the time. If I were to rate this game, I would give it an 8.5/10, for fun combat, huge battles, full vehicle use, and challenging game play. Its negative points include long waiting periods between matches, and it takes too long to earn money and Xp.
This game would also be one of the games that I would love to roleplay, rating right up there with Assassins Creed and Halo in my Game-To-Roleplay scenarios. In my Game-To-Roleplay rating system, this game takes a solid 9/10 for creativity and possibilities.
