After a while of playing in a multiplayer server, Misael disconnected for a moment and closed his laptop. He was thirsty and needed to get some water. He closed his laptop and Placed it on the bed as he stood up, and walked downtsairs.
He came back a couple of minutes later with a cup filled with water. He took a sip before he reached the door.
And as he opened it and stepped right in, there was a very sudden and loud crack in his room.
Misael jumped a little in freight and spilled a bit of water onto the carpet. Thinking there was something in the room that caused the crack, he put the cup on the table and grabbed an
Old baseball bat he had by the door, keeping it in his hand, ready invade he were to find the thing that caused the crack.
He walked though one side of his room and then was starting to reach the other side of his bed. He was nearing the window when he started to think it was just him hallucinating sounds, when suddenly he heard another crack behind him.
He instantly turned around with the bat in hand, and the first thing he noticed was the egg, which now lay on it's side as was forming a few cracks around it.
It was hatching.
Misael's jaw dropped open a little as he lowered the bat.
"It's hatching already!?" he thought. Having the egg hatch already meant no good for any of them. And he began to panic. All he could do at that moment was stand still and watch, as a tiny black and scaly paw came out of one of the cracks.
Another loud crack was heard, and one side of the egg shattered into pieces as a black winged creature crawled out, it's eyes partially closed and constantly whining.
Misael looked at it in complete shock as the bat fell out of his hand, landing beside his feet with a thud. He couldn't think straight and couldnt process what was going on as he felt his heart pounding extremely hard against his chest. He couldn't see well from either.
He stepped back, almost losing his balance due to his wobbling legs and fell seated on the floor, still moving back.
"A n-night f-fury....?" he stammered quietly, saying what was obvious. The newly hatched dragons was just a few inches out of it's egg now, the last bit of it's tail exiting it. It was covered in slime fro the egg, and still crawled very slowly on the blankets Misael had put. It was whining a little louder now, looking at it's surroundings almost as if it were blind.
He only watched, almost feeling like he was going to pass out. He was fixing it hard to breath now. As he was starting to lose his consciousness, he took deep breathes, trying to relax. Before his eyes could fully close he forced them back open and looked back at the hatchling. He was almost sure this was what he saw in his dream, and now he was very confused.
He stayed there for another few minutes, not knowing what to do. He was brought back into reality when the whines and whimpering from the night fury got slightly louder, and it almost sounded like the poor creature was in pain, or cries of sadness. This almost melted him from the inside and he felt compassion for it. It was then when he just felt like helping it. He tried standing up and still shaking went to get two more small blankets, which was difficult as he kept on dropping them. He came back a minute later and very slowly approached the dragon. He kneeled down bedside it, almost falling instead and looked at it. It's body and head was on the floor as it opened it's mouth slightly every time it whined. Now he felt even more sorry for it.
He grabbed one of the clothes and put it over his hand as he carefully reached out towards it. He toucched the creatures neck and almost immediately it reacted by crawling quickly towards him. He was freightend a bit and moved back slightly. The little night fury reached him until it bumped Into his leg and remained still against it, it's whines much quieter and calmer now, as if it felt "secure" after finding it's "mother", though Misael was not her. But he just assumed it was something normal and natural out of instincts.
He looked at it for a bit and again, grabbed it with the cloth a little. It whined a little more but soon calmed down. And then he slowly, with his hands still shaking, started to wipe it's body clean.
He was done soon and folded the cloth, setting it aside. Them he reached the second one and rapped it around the little dragon, which was barely crying by now. It's eyes were completely closed, and Misael could only guess it was falling asleep.
He grabbed it with both of his hands and carried it in his arms, having a closer look at it.
"How...?" was all he could say. While he felt much more calm now, he was still very confused. How did it get there? Night furies were just fantasy creatures from his favourite show and movie. But one in real life? The question he couldn't answer at all. And this only brought even more questions to his head. Where was their mother, than? How'd she even come to exist? If she's smart just like night furies were, would it have been better to leave the eggs back at the cave? Was she still alive? All these questions made him feel like his head was going to blow up. He was distracted a little when the hatchling stired in it's slumber a yawned, making Misael look down at it in awe. Then he got a brief look at it's underside. And by what he could tell, the dragon was a female.
He smiled slightly as he stood up, and carefully walked back to his bed with the dragon in his arms and sat in it again, covering himself with the blankets. As he looked down at it again, he noticed a strange marking on her head and ears, and this confused him even more.
She looked
exactly like his night fury character that he had in the Internet.
He almost dropped her but quickly reacted and held on, causing her to jump a little and stir some more. Misael just remained there for a while, completely Lost in thought. After about half an hour, he tried to just accept it and ask questions later. And then he started to feel a little excited by this, completely regretting wanting to leave the egg behind or to take it to the Animal Center. If the other's eggs had hatched, either way, they couldn't take a sources unknown to the world there. It would now only be for the worse if they did that. No longer an option.
He smiled and pat her side slightly. He wanted to take care of her now, no matter what. He would find a way. And he decided to give her a name.
And just like his character, he named her Silvermoon.
((Just decided to put all of this now so I don't have to make several posts just for this scene
