Discuss this mysterious, new, preview-less episode based off of James Joyce's 1916 novelDescription: Believing his father his disappointed in him, Hiccup sets off on treasure hunt...

I think it's gonna involve Hiccup on a treasure hunt. That's my prediction after a long, hard thought process that spanned hours.
I also think that maybe, just maybe, there'll be dragons at some point. Just a hunch.

I looked at my guide and the info was "Believing his father is disappointed in him, Hiccup leaves." Does this mean the Heather episode is in two weeks and not after "Portrait of Hiccup..."?

whoa lower the tone
OK i know everyone is looking forward to the Heather episode but please paid attention to the two episodes before it! IT MIGHT BE AWESOME!!!!!!
And also someone wrote this on the wikia in the ninth episode page:
"A mysterious epidemic has spread among the dragons in Berk"
hmm a epidemic what is it? a disease?

I'm fine. I'm gonna enjoy Portrait of Hiccup as a Buff Young Man and Dragon Flower. And, yes, it is a disease...that's what I read on the Vine...it says "When the dragons fall mysteriously ill, the teens must work together." Which means (oh no!) Toothless will most likely become sick!

I wonder if this episode is based off of the second book "How to be a Pirate". The tag line and the plot line for the book are very similar. The description of the book says it's about Hiccup having trouble gaining respect from his father and the the rest of the tribe. He ends up going to look for the treasure of Grimbeard the Ghastly. If this is a nod to that book, then we can pretty much assume Alvin the Treacherous appearing once again in this episode. If this episode is based off the book, in the book, it's where Alvin the Treacherous looses his hand, of course the readers don't see that until his next appearance in book 3 or 4.

Oh, sorry about that. Didn't see your post about it.
Of course, they would have to change alot of things if this was based in the book. In the book, this was Hiccup's first encounter with Alvin. Alvin pretended to be alley so they could search for the treasure again. They can't do that part, since Hiccup now knows Alvin and what he's capable of.
Do we get to see him eaten by the dragon, as in the book? (In the book, that's how he looses his hand. We find out in the next book that Alvin pretty much freed himself from the dragon's belly by chopping his way out of the dragon with an Ax. Gruesome, I know. It's pretty much Aliens but in reverse, the human breaks out of the beast's belly. LOL Somehow, I can't see them doing that in this series. That might just be a little to disgusting. If He does get eaten by a dragon, they'll probably just have the dragon puke him out somewhere, between episodes.
