So what for you makes you feel the SD gives it that edge?
Size? Shot count? Abilities?
All of the above?

Just had a thought: In HTTYD, The NF in the final battle fired at least 8-9+ shots at the Greed/Red death. Therefore, what is said in that episode regarding Fire Shot is false, and leaves us in a position where we still do not truly know the NF shot count. Watched the scene. It was 7. This therefore nullifies the lore set out in the Defenders of Berk about the NF shot count. Interestingly, the Green/Red Death has 11 holes in its wings. This could indicate shots may have been fired by the NF as the holes were there before the wind tore them open. This could indicate at least an 11 NF shot count.

I don't think Toothless can overcome the Screaming Death without Hiccup's strategic insight, even if he is intelligent.

The thing is Toothless is far more powerful. If you want a fair fight you might as well pit the screaming death against a wild night fury. even if we exclude the alpha mode a nightfury can still clock himself with the power of lightning, and since this is a wild night fury pretty sure it will go for the kill this time unlike our soft hearted toothless. Sure the body of a whispering death and a screaming death is hard but toothless was able to break a bewilderbeasts tusk. I know the creaming death is cool and all but a night fury is a nightfury it can be really deadly if it wants.
