I started to wonder why we've never seen any of these Dragons on Berk.
According to Legend of the Boneknapper, Gobber bonded with one and brought that dragon to Berk.
And that Boneknapper called 4 other Boneknappers to come as well.
So why have we never seen them in the series?
At the very least, we should have seen Gobber's Boneknapper, since a bonded dragon tends to stay near the person they bond with.
As an aside, I wonder what name Gobber would give that Boneknapper?
Stunning Treasure is my guess (Treasure for short).

as with many things, i presume it was only because they didnt want to animate it. unless the boneknapper dragons were an important part of the story, animating them would be a bit of a struggle for no real reason.
maybe theyll come into the story at a later date? or possibly make an appearance in the sequel when a lot more effort and money is put into the details of animation.
as for the name, i like it! i might have been able to discuss names with you more if i could come up with anything more imaginative than Derek. haha

They probably went their merry way after a time and the one Gobber bonded with probably still visits him from time to time.

As far as I can tell, Torch's mother was of an equivalent size to a Boneknapper and nobody really knew she was there until she came looking for Torch.
So apparently, there is a food source enough to feed large dragons.
Also, it could be that Boneknappers do their hunting far out at sea and for larger prey, so they're not really a drain on the resources of Berk.

i agree it is possible for the boneknappers to live on berk. large portions of the island arent inhabited and if they wanted to there would be plenty of room for them to live out side of the village. they wouldve had a food source where they used to live, no reason why they cant continue doing their own thing yeah yea
as i said previously, it seems to be purely an animation thing
