Hmm, really? I remember them saying that about Alvin, but not Mildew. I'll have to re-watch.
Oh, and how come no one's noticed that Astrid sleeps with her axe under her pillow XDDDD. I don't know why but that makes me laugh.

I don't know why but that makes me laugh. EVERYONE NOTICED THAT. Well, it's odd, isn't it? Because for the movie, that axe was basically an extension of her arm. It's almost like she lost a limb in that endeavor too. Post-movie, she doesn't carry it at all (or need it). I'm actually surprised she appears to be fairly comfortable with it out of her hands, because literally every gesture of hers for a while depended on that AXE and her minute control of it. I would've thought the effect would've been similar to, say, tying Hiccup's hands to his sides and trying to get him to talk that way. XD At the very least, I guess it's nice that it still serves as a teddy-bear like symbol of comfort to her. And in Axe to Grind (I LOVE COMPARING THINGS WITH TECHNICALLY NONCANONICAL SHIZZ!), it's kind of shown that that axe connects her to her mother somehow, so I suppose there's that (possible) significance as well.

Yea maybe since it because she starts to let her soft side out but maybe also because you know dragons hate weapons. XD (much better statement)

I noticed Astrid sleeps with her axe under her pillow, I jusst didn't say anything because it didn't really strike me like other things did.

Hmm, you know another thing I don't get. Toothless slept outside in Gift? But now he sleeps in Hiccup's room in the show? Another GotNF plot hole! Not that I really have a problem with that. I like the idea of Toothless sleeping in Hiccup's room more then sleeping on the roof...in the middle of winter. And he's really the only dragons who's small enough to fit in his owner's room. Oh, but there's also Meatlug who's in Fishlegs' room to...lick his feet.... ?

Hopefully they have a hatch or something, because on Berk of all places, that could potentially mean he wakes up sopping wet, if not under four feet of snow. XDXDXD Then again, maybe a dragon functions as a decent space heater. XD

In gift he didn't have the slanted drawing board/table, and he didn't have that extra elevated corner for Toothless to sleep on, and the room seems closed off. In the tv show, I think his room has an open wall that is kind of like a ledge overseeing the downstairs (which was in the scene in episode 2 when Hiccup was talking about how he had to help Gobber before Stoick came home). And I'm sure Hiccup's window closes. Astrid has a window/hatch as well, and it opens and closes with shutters. So I'm guessing his does too. I don't think they'd brave the winter with an open hole in their wall.

You know, I kind of like the idea of Toothless using that hatch/window to get in and out of the house. It gives him his own way to come and go, and to my mind makes him jumping on the roof in Gift even cuter. I mean, if Toothless sleeps outside, that habit kind of seems like separation anxiety--"You've been gone all night, please come out, where did you go, I need you!", whereas if he's sleeping inside and then leaving to jump on the roof, it's more just adorable impatience, like a little kid who can't understand why on earth his parents want to sleep in on their vacation when there's fun stuff to do.
I do agree the rest of the continuity with Gift is pretty funky though. If later episodes don't suggest where in canon Gift fits, then hopefully someone will ask where it and Boneknapper fit in at SDCC next year or in the next interview someone manages to swing, as I'm curious where the writers think it should go, or if they think it fits in at all. For now, I guess we just get rampant speculation.
