Here's a kind-of-sort-of promo for the "new Cartoon Network" lineup for next year. It does feature How to Train Your Dragon but only uses scenes from the movie. Nothing super exciting but if you just want to see it part of the CN lineup, have fun watching it. It's at least nice that they're acknowledging it's upcoming existence. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur3mINtH00YOne thing that's odd, though, is that Cartoon Network seems to simply be calling the show "How to Train Your Dragon", like the movie. Me and IcelandiEel both thought the tv show was going to be called "Riders of Berk" based on some trademarking info we found. But perhaps that's not the case?

I've heard that a lot of the cast is returning for the TV show. So if Wikipedia says Jay Baruchel's returning, I believe it. Which is good, because having replacements sounds awful. (And if anyone can read that text at the top right, that'd be great! ;D)

I blew the pic up on photoshop and tried to make it less blurry, but it barely helped. It's just a blurry picture....but I was able to make out a few words. "Written by", "Art", and "Cooper" (or "Copier"). So, maybe this is a script or something?
But the bigger question is...where did you find this picture IcelandicEel? Because it says "preview our..." at the top as well...and I like the word preview lol.
And most of the original cast returning sounds great! This franchise just keeps getting better and better XD. But, even in the pic it says "How to Train Your Dragon TV Show" so, maybe it's just simply called the same name as the movie? Either that or they still haven't settled on a name yet. It could go either way.

I'm not actually sure what the title of the show is anymore, although I never really was in the first place. It's too bad that it looks like they're not going with "Riders of Berk" or "Dreamworks Dragons: Riders of Berk" anymore. Perhaps they realized that "Riders of Berk" could be interpreted as sexual innuendo. :) From what I've heard, it looks like they're going with "How to Train Your Dragon: The Series" (this also pulls up some decent-looking results on Google: soundworksburbank.com/2011/07/05/now-recording-how-to-train-your-dragon-the-series/ ) I zoomed into the picture, unblurred it, even tried rotating it / my head. What I'm really interested in is the word before "by," because it's pretty likely that's the name of the pilot episode. At first I thought it was "Lilies," but that didn't make sense. Now I'm thinking it might be "Tailfins," which does. What it looks like is a poster being held up to a camera to take a picture, and behind it there's a script. The line at the top left might be some kind of edge of a table or desk. I don't know, it might not be the pilot, but "Tailfins" is a pretty interesting name for an episode anyway.

Hey small question. Is "Riders of Berk" just a title you guessed, or a title that was rumored to be the series' from a website? Just curious...XD

IcelandicEel: I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that "Riders of Berk" sounded sexual XD. But you know how Dreamworks is, they trademarked three different titles for Gift of the Night Fury before going with the one they were going to use, so "Riders of Berk" may just be another dumped name since it was trademarked back in March...I think. "How to Train Your Dragon: The Series" just seems like a better name to me, because it's obvious marketing that it's a show based off the movie. So, I think that's a smart move on Dreamwork's call to make sure all the fans (including the ones who don't dig around and internet hunt for new info) know that there's going to be a series based off the show. As for the picture, idk, I guess it'll always remain a mystery But you still didn't say where you found the picture!!!!!!! @t11: "Riders of Berk" was a title Dreamworks trademarked a while back. And it's currently one of the last things they trademarked that they haven't used yet, so me and IcelandicEel just assumed it was the name of the TV series. That and the trademark was under "For the Nature of an Animated TV Series". But one thing I've learned from tracking Dreamworks trademarks is that just because they trademark the name doesn't mean they're going to use it.

It's not TOO sexual, it just has an unfortunate secondary meaning for people who know what "berk" means. And as James Franco pointed out with the original title, you can never be too careful with this kind of thing... I found the picture here: blog.justinhook.com/post/9342591283/we-exist-though-thats-still-not-the-title-i It's a site for one of the writers. Except for this one post and a little thing in his bio, he hasn't mentioned dragons anywhere else, but he did include an image of it!

Gah, even on this guy's blog he said that he doens't think that's the title! Grrrrz. I'm not expecting tons of plotline info at this point, but if we at least had the title it would be easier to search for it online. That's a good find, though, IcelandicEel, I think that's the first person found to be even working on the show.
And I did notice something of this guy's "About" page that might've been overlooked. The fact that the tv show is not only under Cartoon Network and Dreamworks distributions, but also another company called "WildBrain Entertainment". That actually might come in handy and after doing a search on Google I found that they actually advertised the series on their site at the beginning of the year. Though it was nothing we didn't already know from all the other news articles floating around.
Also, I found that on WildBrain's job listings on their site they mentioned that the tv show was a "high profile" series. I'm not entirely sure what that means, but that might be an indication that the animation quality will be pretty good?
Along with Justin Hook, I was able to find that worked a woman named Lexee Munoz who is the digital production assistant on the show, Mark Walton who was a story artist. Both Lexee and Justin have been working there since January, so perhaps that's when the animation started?

I found a couple other people online as well, though none of them had much information about the show other than the director that you found. As for the title... *sigh*. Dreamworks and titles have always had an uncertain relationship. They can basically attach the "Dreamworks Dragons" part onto practically anything. Just maybe not "Dreamworks Dragons: Legends of Awesomeness"

I modfied my previous post with a few other people I found. Searching "WildBrain Entertainment How to Train Your Dragon" seems to be pulling up a lot on a Google search. I'm looking at a article right now that might have the budget for the show on it which might help as to what the quality of the animation will be...but I have to keep reading.
And yeah, titles from Dreamworks are always a butt to find, but everything I'm seeing is simply calling it "How to Train Your Dragon: The Series"

And look what I found on the first page: Got an episode title!

Yes! Ironically I found that guy on Facebook before you posted it, but didn't notice the fact that there was an episode title. Haha "Paging Dr. Gobber", sounds like it fits to me, and I'm glad that they're not having all the titles be "How to...."
But yay! That's something! And I was able to find some kind of money value for the show, but it's not the budget unfortunately. There was $1.08 million dollars earned in producer and service fee revenues for season 1 of the show. I'm still not sure what that means, but according to the article that's a good thing.
Oh, and I found another guy: Lenord Robinson, Storyboard Revisionist who, once again, has been working since January of this year.

Like, "How to Page Dr. Gobber"? Yeah, that would sound just a little bit awful. But the title sounds promising. A dragon gets sick and they call in Gobber to help, perhaps?
And I saw Lenord Robinson as well. I think he's also a writer and a director and here's his email address: lenordrobinson@yahoo.com (I should be a professional stalker ;D)

The series title you found sounds great ^^. But I really don't think that's a good episode title...Really Gobber is SO annoying most of the time. Now an episode dedicated to him? -_-. But who knows. Maybe that can just be one of many titles for one of the episodes XD.
