I would wonder what would have happened if Toothless got to him a bit later. I mean, if he was only a couple seconds too slow, Hiccup could have easily died or have had horrible burns all over him!

Hmmm... When I first saw the film, for some reason I felt like the leg got singed off in the fire. Like Toothless wrapped Hiccup in his wings, but his left leg didn't get covered, was sticking out or something, and got scorched in the flames? Haha I don't really know where that came from, but I just assumed it had soimething to do with the fire. Poor Hiccup

The question is: how come Hiccup didn't feel much pain when he woke up? xD

He must have been out a -LONG- time. If you look after he leaves his house, there are new buildings made for the dragons, I'm guessing a few months.

Personally, I think it was burnt off: A. He Hiccup's foot was crushed, mangled, broken, etc. there would have been a decent amount of blood gushing out and Gobber and Stoick would have far less passive than Gobber simply saying, "Well, most of him." (This line also implies that Hiccup is missing a foot at this point.)
B. When Toothless unfurled his wings he also unfurls his tail from Hiccup's legs. Toothless' wings are not large enough to cover the entirety of Hiccup's body, so Toothless used his tail to cover Hiccup's legs. Unfortunately for Hiccup, Toothless was likely unable to cover his left leg due to his missing tail.
C. Hiccup wakes up with little to no pain (if his facial expressions are to be believed). If his leg had to be manually amputated he would have felt a lot of pain upon waking and likely would have woken up in the process of amputation. The leg being burnt off would have killed nerve cells close to the wound quite well and would have effectively numbed most of it.
There is far more evidence for Hiccup's leg being burnt off than it being mangled beyond saving.

Had he been out for months, he would have dehydrated and the Vikings would have probably resorted to more desperate means of waking him. Also, Hiccup states at the beginning of the movie that almost all the buildings on the island are fairly new because of the frequent dragon attacks. The vikings must be incredibly good at buildings houses by now. I'm guessing that he was out for a week at most. I could be wrong though.

Awwww... D: I didn't see that... I just assumed it got burned off, because... well... he fell into a giant fireball. ; Well, I just assumed that Hiccup just bumped onto a rock or any broken pieces from Green Death's body and broke his leg... but dont you remember what night furys can do huh PULL IN THERE TEETH toothless could of pulled in his teeth when/if he grabed hicup(thats why hiccup named him ...well.. toothless

Both Hiccups legs were between Toothless's legs, so in that sense both legs would be crushed.

In one of the HTTYD2 trailers and in the movie itself, when talking about Toothless' tail wing being shot off by Hiccup, Hiccup says:
Initially i thought this is weird since i used to believe that it was the fire (and this indirectly, the Red Death (or toothless depending on how you look at it)) that took his leg. Still, what he says doesn't make it that much clearer:
- "It's OK though, he got me back." and "You just had to make it even" make it sound like toothless accidentally mangled his leg whilst saving Hiccup
- "You couldn't save all of me, could you?" makes it sound like it was in fact the fire that took his leg, as Toothless was not able/forgot to cover Hiccup's left leg.
That's at least how it sounds like to me. I could be wrong ofcourse.
Here's the video, Hiccup's phrase is at the end at around 0:53

I think toothless bite hiccups leg off and then before they landed so he carried hiccup into his arm and wings . toothless probably ate his foot or spit it out or they (viking) Had to cut it off.

I always thought that Toothless kinda just grabbed Hiccup, and wrapped all but his left leg in his wings, which was stuck between his two back legs(explaining why his legs were closed on Hiccup's leg) and it just kinda burned off cuz of a GIANT EXPLOSION JUST THIS GUY ABOVE ME SEEMS TO CARE ABOUT TO MENTION(oh and btw dragon skin is fireproof, so Toothless wouldn't have really gotten hurt by the explosion)
