Robert Pattinson to be in HTTYD sequel?

That's right. The actor for everyone's (read: barely anyone's) favourite vampire, Edward Cullen, may be joining the cast of a sequel to our beloved How to Train Your Dragon.

Is Robert Pattinson to get animated? It certainly looks that way! The Twilight hunk lunched with Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg June 27, and apparently their meeting was majorly successful!

“Rob and Jeffrey took a preliminary meeting to discuss Rob’s availability to be a voice in a few upcoming animated projects,” an industry insider tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively of the Sunday luncheon in Glendale, Calif. adding, “Jeffrey also addressed his want for Rob to voice a character in the sequel to How to Train Your Dragon.”

Adds our source, “This will not be the last meeting between the two, either. It was very non-formal and relaxed. They were meeting to check out each other’s schedules and ‘shoot the shit’ – pretty much to see if they would get along and potentially work together. Looks like they will be from how well things went!”

We love it! And we bet Rob does, too. Although his hygiene seems to have improved, voice work means he doesn’t have to shower for work if he doesn’t want to!

Well, I dunno what to make of this yet. I'll wait until I've gotten a little more confirmation on this before believing it's true, but if it is factual, what do you all think of this news?

I'm confused. There's no script yet so how would Katz even know there would be a part for Rob to play? And why is Katz even doing the casting anyway? Isn't that the Casting Director's job? And doesn't the Director have final say?

I'm gonna agree with venus...An is there even a script yet? Seems kinda stupid to pick an actor without there being a script, or a proper part.

As for the actor himself, well, I don't MIND him being in the movie, personally. I think he's an alright actor, he's just had a movie that was very much Love It or Hate It.
If this indeed true...well, let's just see who he is and how he does, hm? As long as he's voicing a new character and not replacing any of the original actors, I'm cool.

You don't know whether there's a script or not. I think they figured out in rough lines what the story will be and figured out most of the main characters (because it will probobably mostly be the same characters anyway). It takes an average of 4 years to make an animated movie, but not all the actual work is done in the last year or something... Especially with 3-dimensional computer animated movies. The rendering of these movies can take up to several months. Plus, not every scene is captured exactly right from the start, it takes a few tries. That's why the have so many screenings in between the process (and it would turn out to be a very crappy movie if they didn't )

I'm sure they already got quite much of the cast, or at least an idea of who it will be. The fact that this information isn't public doesn't mean it didn't happen. ^^

I do agree on the statement that Katzenberg shouldn't do the casting... Please, he's causing enough havoc as he is, please don't get him any more involved.

WHAT?! Robert Pattinson in an How to Train Your Dragon sequel? NOOOO! (Sorry for you Twlight lovers out there, but I HATE Robert Pattinson. ) I never even heard about the news of him being involed for the sequel movie. The last time I heard, they're getting their sequel in 2013. (3 years is gonna pass by fast before you know it!)

OK, I will say what I say that I am not mad about this, let me remind you all that Robert Pattinson played Cedric in the 4th Harry Potter movie. I'll admit I hate him in Twilight but he was great in Harry Potter. So I'm OK with this, he even said he liked playing Cedric more. To make it short, I'm not mad yet, I wannt to know if there is a script and what will happen in this movie and then I will see if I can complain.

I hate the Twilight fandom, 90% is so ignorant and stupid. I don't want them near HYTTD. Keep the glow in the dark vampfag away from HYTTD, wich unlike Twilight actually has quality and creativity put into it. >=|

However, I love that Robert Pattinson hates Twilight.

Also, he's not bad, he could do it. But I agree, Twihards in the fandom may be more then I can take. It was the same in the Last Airbender Fandom, because of that guy which name escapes me, played Sokka.
