YAY, SEQUEL~~~
Hmm... Will it be similar to "How to Be A Pirate" (You know, the second book in the book series)?

I just got the awesome image of Vikings fighting the traditional European kind of pirate... WHILE RIDING DRAGONS.
Stormy, you give me EPIC ideas!

HICCUP VERSUS JACK SPARROW. That's what he gets for lookin' at Astrid like this:

O.O That... is... EPIC. HICCUP AND ASTRID LOOK PERFECT. Well, her hair looks a bit wonky, but that's ok.
If Hiccup and Jack fight I will die a happy Bane. XD

Indeed. All I say is PUT ALVIN IN IT and MAKE HIM CREEPY AND BADASS. Tis my only request for How to Be A Pirate. And add Camicazi and Stormfly in the later movies, if each book gets a movie, so that the fans who never read the books will be dumbfounded...mainly seeing as how Stormfly is Toothless' love interest...and Camicazi is basically Astrid on crack...

Id like to see an original story by Dreamworks. Maybe with a villain trying to steal dragons while Hiccup and Toothless are stranded in a foreign land and need to get home to warn the vikings or something.

...Great. ...Really... :/ I'm not looking forward to it... Dreamworks is probably the worst at making sequels. I thought the movie was wonderfully wrapped up. Sure I love the characters but I think it's fine just as a stand alone. I agree. Sequels tend to be bad... I've got mixed feelings about this. It could be awesome, or it could fail. We'll have to wait and see.

As long as Chris and Dean are over seeing things, I'm kinda ok with it. We just just have to wait and see, I'd say the movies are going to be the best though... the TV show I'm skeptical about.

My biggest concern is that Hiccup and Astrid will have some spat and spend the whole movie resolving it. As already mentioned I think, couples always have trouble in the sequels.
I would like to see Hiccup understand Dragonese (is that what it's called?). I think he did in the books or something...

I don't mind sequels for the most part. Although...Madagascar 2 really sucked hardcore. I hope this is not the case for HTTYD, otherwise I would cry!
My only main stipulation is that they keep all of the original actors. I absolutely LOATHE when they switch actors around for sequels. As if the audience doesn't notice?
While on the subject of Dreamworks' sequels, did anyone know they're making a second Kung Fu Panda?

I heard about the series, but I'm not sure how I feel about it.
Given that Hiccup's voice seemed to be in the middle of puberty, they MAY change him but they would probably have his actor speak more naturally deep. That kind of actor change is the only I would like.

I'm cautiously optimistic provided that Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois are involved. I really hope they won't let a sequel get too far away from the first.
Dean DeBlois said in a pre-release interview that a sequel wouldn't follow the plot of the books as they've already diverged from them, but they might use them for inspiration, so we might be seeing pirates (well, other pirates). I'm sure there will be new characters of some sort - sequels always seem to introduce them. I don't want to see Toothless talking, though, any any potential plot involving "Toothless getting a girlfriend" would have to be handled carefully if used at all.
On the TV series, ehh.. can't see how that's going to work.
