Are you talking about Toothless's tail? The picture looks like an earlier stage of the project; I think it's just a bit of a silly mistake. The quote I think is from the Annecy session regarding DWA's new lighting and animation software.

Yes, I mean the tail. I also understand what the text is referring to, it just surprises me that they didn't notice that pretty obvious lack of tail fins...

I mean, it is the internet... BTW, I like how they still haven't shown the rest of the cast, keeps things classy. Sent from my Nexus 4 using proboards

My thoughts on the whole thing:
I think Hiccup looks.... rather different from before. My brain keeps trying to think of him as someone else, so it's a change that I'm going to have to get used to. I think it's his hair that's doing it to me. But I agree that he does look great. Astrid looks great too, much less plastic-like than in the leaked photos. And Toothless... honestly doesn't look too much different. Makes me wonder how much the rest of the cast has changed (hopefully aged up but not drastically different-looking).
The plot sounds interesting, it isn't really something I was expecting. I wonder who this mysterious Dragon Rider is. (Valka?) It seems like there's a lot they can explore in this movie and many different ways it can go. Also I wonder if this movie is going to end as a 'to be continued' to the third movie or something like that, or if the plot of this movie will be wrapped up at the end. As much as I love Hiccup and Toothless, I'd hope the other viking teens aren't pushed aside or made into side characters because I loved all of them in the first movie. But I think this movie will focus mainly on Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, and the Dragon Rider.
I'm calling the title of the movie to be "Dragons: Secrets of the Ice Cave". I think they'll drop the "How To Train Your" part because the dragons are technically already trained, and because it would make the full title very long and awkward. Also this way they won't have to put a number in the title.
Things I hope we don't see: talking dragons (in Dragonese or English), Toothless being able to fly without Hiccup, a relationship breakdown between Hiccup and Astrid (these are so cliché), that dragon sword being explained through magic or divine intervention (they should keep the setting as real-feeling as possible). If these are included and it doesn't feel 'right' then I think I might be disappointed.
There's a lot that could go right too, but I think it'll be very hard for them to top the first movie; but, with Dean, Chris and Bonnie running this thing I do have a lot of hope. I think too many people, especially with sequels, are looking for it to be unrealistically significantly better than the first, but when the first movie was excellent and the second is great but not quite as good as the first, everyone writes the sequel off as a failure or a disappointment. This is what I think causes people to say "sequels are rarely ever as good as the first". Even if it doesn't top the first movie, as long as the movie itself is good, I will be happy.
ALSO another thing I read on the License Global website is that they are planning to release a toy line in the fall to coincide with Season 2 of Dragons: Defenders of Berk, and another toy line when Dragons 2 gets released. I missed out buying some toys for when the first movie got released, so if there's any decent plushies or figures I might go get me some. (I have a plush collection so I was pretty disappointed that I couldn't get a Toothless plush before they were discontinued, and I can only seem to find them online at ridiculous prices now)
And another thing, perhaps we could start a new forum section for the sequel? We're less than a year away from release now, and as time goes on we're guaranteed to get more details about the movie, and it won't make sense to keep everything in just this thread, or in this forum section. What do you think, ForEn?

It's kind of a risky business since speculation, especially combined with unofficial leaks, usually leads to spoiler-heavy discussions by default. The section itself might just need to be labeled with a spoiler tag.

You're right, it'll be guaranteed to have lots of spoiler-y stuff, which personally I'm kind of trying to avoid. I've already resolved myself to not watching any trailers for it when they get released, because Trailers Always Spoil. (TVtropes link) So perhaps when the time is right, a "Spoiler-Free" thread could be made.

One day after my birthday... a late birthday present? hehe
But with no details I honestly cannot predict what they're showing... For all we know they could secretly show half of the movie.

I hope they at least show or release the clips that were shown at Annecy.
I'm trying to find out if this will be an open-door or closed-door event. If it's closed-door, then they might not allow videotaping or audiotaping of the panel.

Having been both the spoiled and the spoiler, I honestly don't care at this point what plot points get thrown at me... lol
Since it is a teaser (almost a year before release, too) I'm sure it won't be that kind of experience where they basically show you the entire movie.

Well it's not that extremely long.
Interestingly, Alberta and BC list different durations (1m47s and 1m54s, respectively).Canada doesn't even have standardized time Sorry, that was my offensive comedian self. Moving on.
I think it's pretty safe to say this is gonna be a trailer before Turbo, judging by the timing. I really have to go to watch Turbo now...

I don't watch many trailers because of how spoiler-y they are, especially if I decide to see one of the movies the trailer is for. I know that a typical trailer is 2:30 long, but I guess teaser trailer doesn't mean that the trailer is shorter, just that the trailer doesn't contain any plot points; it's just to start stirring up interest in the film. And about the time thing: "The world will end at midnight tonight – 12:30 in Newfoundland." (In Ontario the trailer is 2 minutes long) I think this has a very good chance of being a trailer in front of Turbo, as what other movies could they put it with at this point in time? So that means... less than 2 weeks to go? They'll definitely release it on the internet too, but I want to see it on the big screen (possibly even in 3D? ). I'm getting excited, I really need to calm down.

Simmer down there, bawd. With the fan base of HTTYD, it's without question that the trailer will be snatched up and thrown onto the grapevine. XD Which is where we'll all feast on it like a swarm of ravenous sharks!
