Hey guys,
As you probably have noticed, there are currently two registered users who have been posting malware links lately. Unfortunately, I do not have the power to ban them from posting, so the best I can do is to delete their posts. If I miss any, please report them so that I can be made aware, then I can delete the posts.
For those of you who don't know, the two members in question are Whitvol and Pataltai. If you discover any posts by them, please report them immediately and do not open any links posted.
Thanks! -ForEn

You could get them banned via complaint to proboards they will ban spammers and scammers for you.

I've been doing my best to report every spam post I come across, but it seems the spammer just keeps replacing the threads by my next visit.
A question, can the account be banned? It seems the poster is always the same.
Another more drastic approach might be to seperate the memberships into two groups, those who can post and those who cannot. If that is possible, that is.
That way, the spammers will always be in the non-posting group and no matter what they do, the software says, you can't post a topic or a response.

Unfortunately, I can't ban or mute the spammers, and the other way isn't possible for me either.

Yes but I'm saying proboards will ban them for you foren if you tell them what's going on. Its against there rules also and they can do what you can't.

I doubt there's much that PB can do, but here's something FWIW.
If you can prove the Mods are not foreseeably coming back, and that you're (possibly) the only mod left, maybe PB can transfer Admin power to you?
Looooooooooooooooooooooooooong shot I know, but this is an exceptional circumstance. Hopefully they have something available to them.

I don't think that would work, sadly. It's not a likely solution for this problem, since PB would likely not do that. But it was a good idea.

I don't suppose multiple users sending a message to them about the same issue might cause a reaction?

If it would help, let me know what I have to do to get the ball rolling, so to speak. Or to keep it rolling if the case applies.
The thing I hate most on social internet arenas is when the big number 1 leaves and there's no provisio for the next in line to take over their duties. It just leaves that next in line mod holding the bag with no real powers.
The way I see it, if they give up, someone else should be allowed to take over and run the show. If the number 1 wants to come back, they can easily be given their former station again. And if not, then the next of line gets it.
