From his post high above Dracobyen, Jormungandr continued to observe the movements of Askin and the demon horde which surrounded her. Even from this distance he could feel the tainted aura radiating from Askin, and it was obvious that this was going to be a difficult battle to survive let alone win. Jormungandr was thinking of their odds in the upcoming battle to the point where he almost missed the moment when Askin and her demons suddenly began to move. Their speed and direction made it clear that Askin meant to crush them quickly, they would arrive in less than an hour. With that Jormungadr let out a fearsome screech that sounded similar to a flock of dragons hatchlings screaming in pain which echoed down through even the deepest corridors of Dracobyen, the signal that Askin would be arriving soon. And with that his main mission was complete, now Jormungadr would simply stay at his current altitude out of reach from other demons and watch as the battle unfolds.

Urkendel was first to react to Jormungandr's signal, and he wasted no time as he finished gathering all of his energy. "The corrupted goddess is approaching, the battle will soon begin. I must leave to lead my brethren in battle, I wish you the well, Rovertson the demon slayer. I do hope you plan succeeds." Urkendel said to the others before turning and flying off towards where the demonic forces would be fighting, opposite to where the Ebonystrikers are stationed. As he flew, Urkendel felt the slightest glimmer of excitement towards the upcoming battle, though he didn't understand why. It took him a moment to realize that this would be the first time he's directly fought an enemy in over five thousand years, and that battle was one of the best times for his power to grow due to the large amounts of death and unspoken secrets that become ripe for the picking. 'If this goes well, my power could potentially double over the course of the fighting. That would make me nearly as overwhelmingly powerful as that upstart Rezeroth was, my goal of taking control of all the world's demon hordes may be more achievable that I recently believed.' Urkendel thought as he arrived at his destination.

"Well I guess we should get ready too. We should be prepared to counter Askin at any moment." Peter said, as he got up and walked towards Arc. Darkender took off not too high into the air and hovered and waited for everyone else. When Darkender took off it the jolt woke Rouge up "Is it fighting time already?" Rouge said. "I am as ready as I ever will be. Time to shove Askin back in the dirt for a bit." Replied Rovertson with a small growl the light shifting faster and faster. "You'll hear no argument from me there old-timer!" Arc said as purple static sparked along his wings after Peter was in his saddle. Arc didn't really even need Jormungandr's signal for Askin's approach, he could feel the residual demonic static getting stronger as Askin got closer. "Well let's not get too carried away, but I can say that destroying her would be a great relief." Peter said casually as he watched the sky. "Destroying her body you mean? we wont destroy her until we find her origional form and she will be back in less then a month." "Well we will have to put that month to good use but we have to kick Askin's butt and her stupid demons first." Rouge said as she got pumped up for the fight. "That's the spirit!" Arc said excitedly in response to Rouge before looking to the horizon which now glowed with demonic energy. Arc didn't bother stating that Askin was really close now, the battle was likely to start any minute, but he figured the Ebonystrikers and demons all already knew this anyway and just awaited for the show to begin.

Askin had gathered every deamon within this hemisphere today to do this. She had hear of the traitors and that increased her resolve to pulverize each and every one of those insignificant fools. If they didn't want to ally with her they would die for it. Although her real concern was killing the light ebonystriker Rovertson. His mere touch forced pain to wreck her body in the past but she was more prepared this time ready to face the damned creature. At this moment she was in a massive tornado made from her lightning hiding her completely from view as it tore across the ocean. The deamons swam fast and hard in the ocean below her some of the larger ones trecking across the ocean floor several also flying. When she reached the shores her power ripped a hole right through the barrier hiding the city. The smoke did confuse a lot of the flying deamons causing a few to hit each other but they trecked onward until they hit the outer seas. Her voice ringed out across the deamons mental link to her as she yelled out "This is your revenge for all that the dragons and their riders have done to us! this is the time to bring them to their knees and removed them from this planet. Go.... Kill them all no prisoners." Each word held the malice only she could produce with an unspoken threat of death if they failed. She saw Rovertson next to several unfamiliar and familiar and in her hate induced rage the tornado shot a massive bolt of purple lightning at him. He raised his wings the lightning smashing into a giant barrier of light streaking out from the glowing armour he wore as it spread over across the group of people and dragons as if it was a tent the lightning splitting up into hundreds of smaller bolts hitting friend and foe alive as it streaked out into the ocean and city. the shell of light faded from over the group as Rovertson Roared back at her in fury smashing his claws on the stone below him causing a heavy tremor to shake the immediate area around him multiple aurora stones lighting up brightly on his chest before he opened his maw light from his armour streaming into one single small point before his gems shone brighter and brighter soon the small infinitely bright point of light was released in a massive surge of energy felt by all near here an uniform beam of pure light striking the tornado and hitting her chest on forcing her to retreat for now.

As soon as the Ebonystriker barrier around the island was removed, Thomas had a better understanding of just how difficult this fight was going to be. It was pretty clear that for most of the Protectorate this would be a battle to survive more than a battle to defeat the enemy. He was really wishing their reinforcements from Ekoros and their bases across the globe were here to back them up, right now the only Protectorate members on Dovangard were the local forces, almost all of their European forces, and the lords who defeated Rezeroth, which meant they currently held a minor disadvantage. 'No point worrying about that now, I've got an army to lead.' Thomas thought as he hopped on Screech and turned on his communications device. Thankfully even Askin couldn't interfere with their communication network. "Attention all forces, as you're aware the greatest enemy we've ever faced has begun it's assault. I won't ask you to give your lives to defend our ancient island home, I simply ask that you fight in order to survive. Remember that the Draco Protectorate exists to defend the lives of dragons and humans, and that our enemy seeks nothing less than the eradication of those two races. So I ask that you fight to defend those who can't fight, and to fight to survive, because so long as one human or dragon is alive they will not have victory! All forces engage the enemy!" Thomas said before giving a war-cry and from his saddle on Screech led the primary counterattack force into the encroaching demon hordes.

After Chief Protector Thomas's speech and the surge of energy from Askin's declaration of war on the other side of the island, Urkendel faced the demonic hordes that approached the other end as the island was surrounded. He suspected that many of the more powerful demons and arch-demons deliberately circled around to this end of the island for the chance to kill the so-called "traitors" and their leader, the fourth oldest demon to ever exist and the oldest one that still remained active in the world, the demon of mysteries and the unknown Urkendel. And to further Urkendel's own advantage in battle he had his four sons with him, each one leading demonic and dragon forces in a different area. Jormungandr controlled the skies, Cheshire watched the seas, Tartarus dominated the underground passages, and his first son Basilisk flew alongside Urkendel ready to lead his own force from the surface level of Dracobyen. "My sons, I leave leading our forces to you. Kill these fools who dare attack our new nest, to that end I shall show them the power of a true elder-demon so try not to get in the way of my attacks." Urkendel said to his sons through psychic link before charging up his demonic power even further than when he had been with the demon-killer.
In truth he suspected that if Rovertson had felt his full power he may have killed him on the spot, and sadly Urkendel himself lacked any real form of defensive power so he would have died rather easily. Even now he knew that Rovertson would feel his demonic presence quite strongly even from across the island, because as the gap in power between an arch-demon and a demon is great, so too is the gap in power between an elder-demon and an arch-demon, but even so his aura was only half the strength of the Askin's so it was better to leave the corrupted goddess to the life Ebonystriker. At last his power reached it's maximum, with so much dark demonic aura around his body that he appeared to be made from a pitch black smoke with glowing red eyes and glowing multicolored gems being the only constantly stable parts of his body. And as expected a group of at least five arch-demons attacked him at once. Urkendel moved to engage them in battle as well, he was excited to see how much he'd absorb from this battle.
~Here's a reference for Basilisk~

Across Dovangard the other Protectorate leaders reacted in similar fashion and engaged the demons with everything they had. At sea battleships and aquatic dragons battled against aquatic demons from Askin's horde while the skies filled with dragons, dragon riders, and various military aircraft facing off against aerial demons. All the while Protectorate forces on the island of Dovangard itself provided support by firing cannons, trebuchets, surface-to-air missiles and various other projectiles to hold back the demon horde while also preparing medical stations for the injured. Meanwhile the Smokebreath squadrons flew around the island continuously renewing their smoke barrier to prevent outside humans from finding out about the battle. Meanwhile halfway across the Atlantic Ocean, Ebonystriker and dragon rider reinforcements led by Vidoron flew straight for Dracobyen still unaware that the battle had already begun. Similarly a flock of dragons, all of which were endangered species, also made their way north from the savannahs of Africa after deciding to aid their friends in the Protectorate despite their orders to avoid any actions that could cause them to die and further lead their various species to extinction.
