~anything you want to add?~
Peter woke up with a start. This time he had actually fallen asleep, but Arc woke him up and pointed with his head to where Rovertson was. When Peter looked, he saw that Rovertson was pulling some sort of sack out from a bush and that Gillien was up and standing nearby. "Thanks buddy. I'll go check it out, but you should probably still keep a distance from Gillien, at least until he gets more used to being surrounded by dragons." Peter said before casually walking over to where Rovertson was pulling things out of the bag. As he got closer, Peter saw that the objects seemed to be a red sword with what looked very similar to an aurora gem in the hilt and a diamond tipped staff. When he saw the staff spiral out into a shield, though, Peter was more surprised by the fine quality and the quantity of diamonds in the thing than the fact that it was a collapsible shield. Heck, the Protectorate had a few collapsible shields too, the first created as far as the Protectorate knew was back in 1488 and was made with design input from an honorary Protectorate member, Leonardo da Vinci. But the da Vinci styled shields were made of metal and were unadorned, with a leather backing where this one seemed to have what looked like dragon scales lining it. "Some shield. I don't even think royalty are quite worthy of it. And that sword is just plain awesome." Peter said. For some reason he felt like he recognized the metal that the sword's blade was made from, but for the life of him he just couldn't figure out what it was. "Hey Rov, what metal is that blade made from? It seems familiar. Just curious, but, that wouldn't happen to be an aurora gem in the hilt? The Protectorate has done a few major studies into the gems properties throughout history, partly because Jorgen didn't write about it a lot for some reason." Peter asked. "Well we couldnt give him cheap weapons of low quality if Askin shows up could we? and the reason for you not seeing much on them is Because I asked him not to and he respected my wishes. I did not want him to write out all of Asralies secrets and gladly he took most of them to the grave well it was actually Azronical who asked that but same result. As for the gem it is an Aurora gem I have may nearby I wil use to fuel me and Azronical when Askin shows up with several interesting abilities of other ebonystrikers. Glad you like the make of the weapons Azronical has a nack for modifing weaponry and making it. As I hope you know that sword you keep was made by him too and given to Jorgen his first time in Asralie. The Aurora gem in that one contains my powers and I've fueled it over many hundreds of years it probably has the most energy in it of any Aurora gem. The sword can heal and sheath itself in the light similar to my grapnel spikes which is especially effective against Askin. I modified the gem to also power itself from the light nearby that's why its sucking the light out of the air and it will only work for my flesh and blood. As for the metal I'm surprised you don't recognize it Jorgen never was told to keep that a secret its melted down from part of Azronicals old armour after he outgrew it. Rovertson answered.
"That's what that metal is! I knew I recognized it, but I just couldn't figure it out! But honestly, that is definitely going to be a useful sword in the coming battle, and yes, of course I knew Az modified Smaragd to it's current form. While you're confidence in Jorgen is gratifying, you probably should have specified what you meant when you, or Az, requested he keep those secrets secret and take them to his grave." Peter said. "What do you mean to his grave? asked Rovertson. "Well..., when a science team was finally authorized to excavate the tomb, they found Jorgen's grave surrounded by his more personal journals and texts. But what was really a shock was that under his grave, there was a tunnel that led deep undergound. Those stairs led to a truly massive library, as in fly-a-jumbo-jet-with-ease massive. And the shelves were quite well stocked with books that certainly detailed some rather, interesting secrets of not just Asralie, but Ekoros and even the Eastern Ebonystriker Tribes, there were even documents with some interesting facts about specific people! What was strange was only half the shelves were filled, the others stood empty. It took a century before Shockstorm revealed that those other documents were relocated and hidden throughout the world by one of Jorgen's last commands before he died of old age. That is kind of part of why the Protectorate has had so many search parties out over the last few centuries, and it is also part of my mission." Peter told Rovertson. "Ugh hate Ekoros and the eastern tribes to much bad memories. Azronical will probably wish to travel back into time to wring Jorgen's neck when he hears this but don't worry I won't tell him if you don't I don't want to hear him bitching and moaning about it for the last few weeks of my life. I've been meaning to ask you did Shockstorm live this long? Also before this thrice cursed well uh.... curse kills me can we head to the area where your Protectorate is at its probably safer then anywhere else for Gillien to be from Askin" Rovertson replied. "That would probably be best. Shock told enough stories to pass along how annoying Az gets when he's upset." Peter said with a smile. "And also, I think you should be brought up to date a bit on Asralie's counterparts. Ekoros, which somehow is still in power in the west, has actually become much less biased than it used to be. Conditions for life Ebonystrikers has improved astronomically, though they are still considered inferior. Part of this though is because of their involvement when Ekoros declaired war on the eastern tribes. Which brings me to my next point, during that war, which lasted from 1632 to 1854, the eastern tribes were totally annihilated." he added. "I already knew about that I said I hate them didn't say I had no clue what goes on. And even though they've changed some of the Ekoros population wronged me enough I can't just drop my anger." replied Rovertson.
"Yeah, it wasn't pretty. But also, about Shock. You're just a little late. He died recently, just four days ago, from old age. I imagine he would have been excited to find that most of his old friends are back." Peter said, still a bit sad that neither him nor Arc had been present when old Shock died. "That's .. sad but hardly surprising I was just hoping to get to see him just one more time its been quite awhile. To bad all dragons don't live as long as ebonystrikers but Shock lived a lot longer then normal it seems." replied Rovertson. "Yeah, we think it helped living in a good environment with plenty of life Ebonystrikers around, towards the end of his life he was pretty much immune to just about everything. Though when we get there, I think Az might be able to find an old friend, one who has lived far longer than any other in his race." Peter said, "And I do agree, Dracobyen is probably the safest place on the planet from Askin. Even now the Protectorate is calling in it's armies, and our allies are also rallying to fight against Askin and the demons. The thing is, we have yet to get word to Asralie, that's my job. But the flight over there would cause us all to lose valuable time, so I wonder if maybe you or Az could deliver the alarm via the Archives. And to be honest, you could get much better medical attention at Dracobyen than if you waited for the medical team that's flying in from Switzerland. So yeah, you and Az will be quite welcome at Dracobyen. And you're in luck, it's not very far either." Peter said. "Good we should get moving but if you want it bluntly this is not something that can be healed with medicine or anything else or I would have ridded of it a long time ago." replied Rovertson. "True, even I doubt we could fully heal something that is incurable by life Ebonystrikers, but at the very least I'm certain we could slow it down. The Protectorate is far more advanced in medicines than the rest of the world, and as we found with Shock, blood transfusion works wonders for dragons of all kinds. Anyway, you're right we should leave as soon as possible. But first I'll call ahead and tell my dad we're coming." Peter said before turning and walking back over to his and Arc's camp to call up his dad again.
