Well, one thought is, how well can dragons judge someone's intent? Was Stormfly just interest in the chicken, or did she get that maybe Heather was scared. She wasn't happy, but didn't feel comfortable just dumping her off in the ocean when she realized something was up.

Ok guys here's my review. I can see that they made a change in the beginning of the show judging from the early storyboard. I didn't mind that. Love how the story is leading up to another outcast showdown. Heather is a great character. She is that typical spy and lucky she's not trying to break up the Hicstrid relationship. I'm glad they didn't go to the relationship part or the story would be sidetracked. This episode was good, can't wait how it all ends. One more thing. A message for Heather: Don't mess with Hicstrid!

I have the same feeling you did. There was some great Astrid development and character tension, but I COMPLETELY agree with what you said about Stormfly. Also I thought it was a little rushed at parts.
As for the book of dragons thing, they added stuff remember... a lot. And about the controlling things, Alvin doesn't really know that, he just thinks they're weapons basically.

I admit it, I loved this episode...even though the Hiccup sort of comforting Heather was kinda my idea (not really) with Hiccup saving and comforting my OC, Becky. My OC almost drowned, but Hiccup saved her. And him taking Heather on a flight around Berk...kinda reminds me of the time when Hiccup took me...I mean, Becky, on a romantic flight...btw I just remembered something from Terrible Twos...Hiccup said his "first girlfriend is a dragon"...which implies he and Astrid aren't officially dating yet...just thought I'd put that out there...and what was with Hookfang, acting all crazy? I know dragons take on the personalities of their riders, but...anyway, did anyone see who Heather was voiced by? Was it Anna-Marie or Mae Whitman... in my opinion she sounded a lot like Mae...I could be wrong...even though Heather is kinda a bad guy (btw whoever thought she was working for Alvin, good going!), I'm thinking of drawing her. I mean, I've drawn almost every character from the movie, except for the twins, Stormfly, BarfBelch, Stoick, and Gobber...I could add Heather to the mix. I'll add some pics of my drawings as soon as I can...I drew/painted a pretty good portrait of Hiccup and July...except he's a little sunburned...anyway, I'll post more tomorrow...gotta get to bed...exhausted and my dad came home from a trip out to the midwest today...family thing...good night, fellow HTTYD Fans! I'll probably post when I get home tomorrow...

This episode was pretty good. Far from the best, but good.
Pros:
-Great character tension
-Really liked Astrid’s character development in it
-The interactions between her and Heather were great
-Set up for a potential awesome new episode.
Cons:
-Felt a little rushed
-WTF was up with Stormfly flying with Heather and liking her JUST for giving her food? When it was obvious that her best friend hated her? They’ve already stated that these dragons are loyal and intelligent, so I am calling this OOC for Stormfly. Or I would, but I can’t, because they haven’t even focused on her that much. Sorry, that kind of irked me.
-Not enough Toothless (personal complaint).
-Snotlout thinks entirely with his downstairs brain.
-The whole episode just lacked a final push to make it great I think.
I also would like to say that there was almost NO HiccupXHeather romance. At all. Hiccup liked her, but she didn’t like her.
So I’m thinking the next episode is going to be a lot better though. This one was good, but not great. I’d also like to see some genuine Hiccstrid development here.

Oh, yeah. There wasn't much Toothless, unfortunately...

I love the episode
Too bad Heather was evil. Hope this is not entirely true.
I didn't complain much about Toothless but Stormfly.......................WHAT THE MATTER WITH YOU! (of course an explanation is that Heather did use tactics)
and turns out Heather not voiced by Anna i looked at the credits and she voiced by MAE WHITMAN! (looks like you were right iluvhttyd)
all in all this episode is in my favorite list.

Stormfly was just OOC. That's all.

OH YEAH!!! I AM AMAZING!!!...Sorry...Like I said, I knew it was her! I look forward to seeing Heather get busted....and, like everyone is saying, what WAS with Stormfly??? My thought, chicken is her weakness...like baby-back ribs are my weakness...delicious, juicy, saucy baby-back ribs...I'm gonna stop there cuz I'm craving ribs...bye!

Someone on Tumblr said that it's possible the chicken is like a drug to her. Like, she could have been drugged and pretty much temporarily brainwashed.

I saw two callbacks in this episode:
- Snotlout running in the water (from episode 2)
- and Hiccup's "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT" line XD (from the movie)
and did anyone notice that the Outcasts training ring net is made out of wood! DON'T THOSE OUTCASTS KNOW WOODS NOT STRONG ENOUGH!

Nice callbacks. I did recognize those things...
